Thermostat or heater most likely causes. Does timer button move round without doing anything? Timer knobs on Zanussi notorious for breaking off inside.

SOURCE: Drum is not moving

It sounds like the drum drive is broken ... could be a belt at the back of the machine or it could be gear driven ... most likley a belt... take off cover on back of machine to see if the belt is broken and replace if necessary. Also could be pump but that is probably the last thing to go wrong pumps rarely ever fail.

SOURCE: zanussi washing machine wont spin

check the drain hole when you start the machine if the water is coming back out , if yes that means your dump valve is bad.

SOURCE: loud banging in spin cycle zanussi aqua cycle

if you can get the front plate off you will probably notice that the drum stabilizer roller has either fallen off or is damaged. This part is replaceable and should be no more than 20 bucks.

SOURCE: zanussi aquacycle 1000 washing machine spin problem

My zanussi aquacycle 1110 sounds like it is about to take off when it goes onto a spin cycle. Does anyone know what it could be? The big black spings are still in place inside the washer that hold the drum. It also rattles more than normal as well. Thankyou

Put my washing on at a 60 degree wash for 1 hour 40 mins. Went back to machine several hours later, there was tiny amount of water on floor and machine had water in it but the wash had not progressed any...

Sounds like a blockage perhaps the filter needs cleaning or pump blades jammed...If its a Hotpoint then filter is middle of sump hose connected to the drum....

Hi The white load program on my washer has just started to stop at 1 minute to go and appears to just continually cycle on the rinse stage. The coloured cycle works fine. Could you please advise?

Hi you dont mention make and model but I have come across certain brands Aeg Zanussi that wont unlock until the drum temperature is below 50deg c remaining on the last min until that happens. This can be caused by a blockage in the drain system ,pump.filter or hoses.this causes the wash water to be retained through to the end of the rinses. the higher temp of the white prog may be hot enough for the door unlocking to be delayed. A faulty door lock can also give the same effect(affected by the longer prog and temp). also check the inlet hoses if hot and cold are not the wrong way round. good luck

Zanussi aquacycle 1200 smells coming from between the drum and casing.Suspect it is caused by a build up of slime etc.

1. Set the washing machine on the highest water level, temperature on hot and the wash cycle to normal.
2. Fill a gallon jug with hot tap water. Once the cycle begins, let it run for a minute or two, then stop the cycle, open the lid and slowly add the gallon of hot tap water. Don't overfill — you just want to raise the water level so that it is able to reach and clean the inside top rim.
3. Add 2 to 4 cups of household chlorine bleach and restart the cycle. In a couple of minutes, stop it again and just let it sit for at least 30 minutes. Afterward, let the cycle finish, and open the lid to air out the inside.
