Re: 31-30 flashing code
The capstan motor is the problem of your camera...that why c31:30 is appearing..there are 3 possible problem of the capstan motor...1 if the motor running too fast the sensor of the capstan is busted...2 may be the capstan is stuck up and there an object that clog to the motor ....3 may be be there no supply voltage to the capstan, poor connection to the main board socket...adjust the contact of the socket...it is need to disassemble the camera for doing this...if you are not a technician please don't try to fix your camera...i suggest you better go the qualified service center for fixing your camera...

Hi
Have you tried resetting the camera back to factory settings? This should clear up any problems...if it doesn't it may at least let you know what the problem is? Also...do not use an SD card no bigger than 2 gigs, What is thee display showing? Make sure the date and time are correct! Get back to me if you need any more help...Thanks...John,
Your camera appears slightly older than mine so I will do my best for you. Have you tried ejecting the tape with the power off? If I have problems I slide the eject button when the camera is off but plugged in and the tape can be ejected. I suspect the tape mechanism is in trouble. When a tape stuck in mine I had to literally force the cover open. But this is a last resort.
Give my suggestion a try and apologies if you have already tried that...
1. Open the tape cover fully until it clicks open. 2. Turn the camcorder on to "VCR Mode." 3. With the cover still open and the camera in "VCR mode," take out the battery. 4. Put the battery back in--out should pop your tape.
That error means that something is out of alignment or stuck in the tape mechanism. You have two options: to have the camera inspected and repaired, OR if you don't want to do that and feel you don't have anything to lose do this: Remove the tape. Close the tape door completely. Close the LCD. Turn the camera off. Remove the battery. Give the camera a good firm smack or two on each side with the palm of your hand. Power the camera up and try the tape again.
It sounds crazy, but doing that can possibly help unjam whatever mechanism is locked up. This has worked for many people. Hopefully it will take care of your situation too.
Hello. First, do not force anything!! Secondly, make sure the battery is properly charged. Next, in playback mode, try to rewind or fast forward the tape--this causes the recording, audio, etc. heads to retract away from the tape and *might* free it if that is the cause. When you open the outer cover to trigger tape eject, do you hear the tape mechanism motor running? If you don't hear anything or the mechanism is truly jammed, it will require a tech to remove the tape and repair/replace the insert/eject assembly. Send the unit directly to a repair facility unless the warranty is still in effect.---Hope I was of some help.---Rick
Hi Jeany, Please see the detail below for the said error codes C31:23 & C31:22
According to the symptom and self diagnostic system the problem is in mechanical section (tape loading section) Therefore camera just need mechanical adjustment and will work fine again. This problem aries when the insertion of the cassette is improper or forced insertion. Thanks for using fixya.
