ASKO D1796 dishwasher start button is cracked

It seems to run fine but the lights flash in a strange way when the start button is pressed. Does this need repair? Is it possible to replace the cracked panel?

SOURCE: Asko D1796 will not start properly

It sounds as if you may have A bad control board. It could be causing the heater element to come on when its not supposed to (usually a stuck relay) and not filling the machine with water. you could also have a bad control board AND a bad fill valve, as a stuck relay for the heater shouldn't affect the fill valve circuit. The bad news is that these asko control boards are $350 to $450 for just the part, the good news is that the control board is under a 5 year warranty (for only the part, not the labor to change it) as are the pump motors and any timers. Also, if you are just out of warranty, find your date of installation, as asko warranties start when you install it, not when you buy it (if you moved into the house and it was there when you moved in, and you are the first owner, submit a date of occupancy and that's when your warranty started)

do they flash lik all on one side then the other? Start a cycle, then open the door. Do the lights flash the same way when you open the door as when it stops? if soyou may have a door that needs to be adjusted so it closes better. when the cycle ends, is there any standing water in the bottom? if so you may have a poorly routed drain hose or a partial clog in it. Last, pull the bottom panels off and look inside the bottom of the dishwasher and see if there is standing water down there . If ther is you have aleak somewhere or a bad drain pump. You r only other choice is a bad pressure switch. If youve already adjusted the water fil to the proper level ( just up to the grey plastic housing that the lower wash arm sits on) tehre really aernt any more options. Hope this helps!

I had to slide the dishwasher forward (undercounter installation)and tip it forward as far as possible. Water leaks onto floor, but then the internal controller seems to reset and the ASKO now works normally again. What kind of idiot would design a control module that does not incorporate a power-off interlock? FAIL FAIL FAIL - Bad, ASKO, Bad. Go to your room.

My asko D1796 dishwasher has turned itself to 'flood mode', how can I fix this?

Try tipping it over to get the water out of the base that is activating the flood switch, removing the kick panel and drying with towel and hair dryer. If there is no majour leak you should be back in action.

Hope this might help

Asko D1796F1 builtin...lights are on but no one is home

Our Asko D1796 dishwasher has the lights on the panel working as usual but you can't select a cycle and it won't turn on. We unplugged the pipe. If we turn it off and wait for 12+ hours we have gotten it to work twice.
