AT2+ doesn't print

I got a Schiller AT2+ machine which gives an out proper ECG in it's LCD screen but won't print anything. It either shuts itself off instantly or it prints a near empty page with just two small boxes of print. I've reset it according to the manual to no avail. Thanks in advance

The paper is is backwards, there are 4 ways to load paper BUT only 1 way is the RIGHT WAY. Hold out 1 sheet and up to the ceiling, pink to the right side and the black square on the TOP LEFT, turn flip and spin the whole stack of paper.

HI,
Its a common problem with Schiller ECG machine. The battery of your ECG machine is faulty. Even if you are using the machine in AC it uses the battery power. The AC power is only used for charging the battery.

When the machine starts to print the battery will drop down and the printing will stop. This is happening with the machine. It will eject the first paper without printing. its normal. Because the machine starts printing on a fresh page only. In your case the machine is ejecting the first paper. When the machine starts its printing in the second page it will draw a large amount of current from the battery for its thermal printing head. If the battery is not proper then it will suddenly drop the printing. The square box you see is not printed by your ECG machine. Its already printed in the paper of Schiller. With this mark the Machine sense the page.

Its a 12 volt 2.3 AH battery. You will not be able to replace the battery from out side any where. For replacing the same you have to open the machine by removing the screws on its bottom. Be care full with the paper tray while removing the top cover. Also do not use any force to open the top cover because there are connections on the top cover.
Here i have added a link to the battery for Schiller AT2 PLUS

My machine will not turn on

Greetings. The schiller AT2 is battery powered. It will power on when plugged in however even with a dead battery, but if the battery is REALLY bad, we have seen it load the power supply preventing power up. On the top of you unit there is a small green "AC" indicator that should be illuminated when the at2 is plugged in. If it doesn't, your power cord might be bad, try a new one. If that doesn't fix your problem I would try at least to replace the battery. The battery requires dis assembly to replace, and there are three cable attaching the top case to the PC board. If you pull it apart to far without detaching the cables, you will do expensive damage. Also the removal of top case exposes high voltage, so this should never be undertaken a. with the unit plugged into a wall outlet, or b. By an unskilled individual. I would recommend that you find a local bio-medical contractor, or other service company, and have the battery changed. If your chosen contractor replaces the battery and the problem remains, your main board likely needs replacement, again by a qualified individual. Be warned however this in a very expensive part. There are several other possible problems, but very few that are operator serviceable. Best of luck!

How does ECG machine find that signals are good for printing (in auto mode)? some ECG machines take up to 20 second time for printing start

hi,
When the at2 is in auto mode, first of all it check the leads are properly connected or not. Then it will acquire the ECG and store the same in its memory then only it starts printing. that's why it takes that much time to give a printout. When its starts printing you can remove the connections from the patient because it have already memorized the ECG.
If interpretation is in on position it will compare the acquired ecg with the standards in its memory (allready programed by the manufacturer). and will give a detailed report with ecg.

Welsh allen at-2 lead light is on however ekg machine will not give tracing

hi,
There is some problem with the patient cable. Any one of the lead is broken inside. AT2 senses the presence of all the lead first and then only it will acquire the ECG and store it in its memory, after that it will print the ECG.
If any one of the lead have some problem. it will not go to the next procedure. and will indicate the lead off light.

1. check are you connected the lead correctly.
2. clean the electrode properly.
then try one more time. if problem remains. you have to replace the patient cable.
