I have done the trouble shooting to a frozen line in the door near the outlet. Not sure where the heater is, or how to replace it. If I could find a electrical drawing I could determine if the heater was open. Thanks, Art
Art, did you check to see if your model was in this class action suite against GE regarding this problem? I know there has been many calls out there where GE sent new retro-fitted doors to correct this very problem. To answer the question about the dispenser heater; this heater is designed only removes moisture from the recess in high humidity conditions. You can get at it by removing the door liner. There is about 40 mounting screws and the cornes have double sided tape. After removing the liner, remove the styrofoam dispenser cover. There's the heater. I don't believe that this is your problem, I think the suite had to do with poor insulation in the freezer door..Catriver..post back.
