Question about Compaq FP 5017 15" Flat Panel LCD Monitor
How do I remove the back on this monitor? Anyone have a solution? Need to check the fuse!
This is how I did it.
1- Remove the four screws in the back of the monitor. Two are in the bottom corners and two more near the bottom center ( these hold the stand in place).
2- Remove the stand.
3-The case back is held on by the four screws and a number of plastic pressure clips. After removing the screws: using a fairly wide flat bladed screw driver; insert the blade in either of the two slots on the bottom edge of the case and twist with medium force. This begins the seperation of the back from the rest of the monitor. As the crack widens, begin moving the blade of the screw driver along the widening crack (around the case edge) and twisting gently. This releases each pressure clip in turn. Separate the case back from the rest of the monitor.
I did this this way with my monitor. It works.
Good luck.

For FP 5315 a very nice monitor by the way yeah U should be able to located screws in the back But I suggest that you remove the stand frist. it also has that label in the middle. You gonna have to remove it (not sure if a must but there are some screws there too) WARNING: be sure not to mess around it anything that dosen't need to be move. Once open there will be a strip of wire connecting the screen with the board gentel remove it now u will see two boards the on the left in the main controling board. The one in the right controls the power. you should be able to locate the fuse in the right one right next to the green power cable. hope it helps. and as alwasy use common sense and please remember to disconnect the power cable. I have felt what happens..........so yeah
