No Volume on Original Delphi SkyFi Receiver

Hello..I have the delphi xm receiver for about 3 years now.. It is in the boom box set-up Recently I get no volume..says up to "30" but nothing.. I tried moving the antenna ..does nothing..shows playing.. I don't have any written instructions.. Anybody knows what is wrong.. thanks for the help.. [email protected] carmine

You need to replace the transformer that plugs into the wall.

What you need to do is simultaneously hold the VOLUME UP button as well as the MODE button. This will reset the unit. From what I read of your problem, you were simply holding the VOLUME plus MODE buttons.

SOURCE: New Delphi installation over older delphi car kit

Just installed the xpress RC in my Durango, replacing my SKYFi2. Both units are Delphi (all of the newer xpress RC's are made by Audiovox now, but Amazon sent me the Delphi made unit). Everything swapped out with the exception of the 12dc power cord. Had to use the one included in the new unit, plug size that goes in the new cradle for the RC is different. In the new unit I did get two "user guides" in Spanish and none in English (I wish America would adopt one friggin standard language. English) but other than that it was quick and painless.

SOURCE: Powering up Delphi SkyFi 3

I found the soloution to my problem on the "Shop Delphi" website. I had to do a hard reset described at this link:

http://www.shopdelphi.com/contact/ce/s_pf/#2516

It erased all memory in the Skifi and reset everything back to factory specs, but I have my radio back.

Did you try putting batteries in it and seeing if it powers up then? Also you could try a different power supply.

Will delphi sa10000 without cassette player

Should be able to hear Sirius channels through your FM radio. Cassette is better, but you can just set up your FM radio to the same channel as you set the Delphi unit. See instruction manual (download from online here) http://www.siriusretail.com/pdf/hardware_support/delphi/skyfi_operations.pdf

My skyfi 3 I have in my car and home. It has locked up on a station and I can not turn it off or change stations. Whats the problem?

First: push VOL UP and POWER and hold both at the same time to RESET the unit. Then use the MiniUSB cable to load the latest firmware from the Delphi/XM radio website. If you still have an issue after the firmware update, then call Delphi directly for assistance.

Have difficulty with volume control on Delphi SkyFi. Turning volume knob produces a digital number of 1 to 3. Seems to work better after being warmed up. Can eventually get up to 12 or above. Anything I...

Do you have one of the original orange display SkyFi units, or a SkyFi2, or an XT? It sounds like you are using it in a boombox? The rotary dials do wear out on the SkyFi and SkyFi2 and there isn't much you can do - the knob may come off and you can spray in some contact cleaner, but that doesn't always work either. Using a remote control might be your only hope at this point unless you buy a new old stock unit off of eBay or the like. Good luck.

Delphi skyfi3 won't turn on, the screen is white. Also will not connect to computer to be updated. any ideas please?!

Press both the MODE key and the Volume control for a few seconds and the unit will re-boot.

My SkyFi R 1.18 does the same thing but the solution here doesn't

If it freezes, you have to push the volume UP button and Power button to 'reset' the unit.
go to the XM website and get the latest FIRMWARE update for the SkyFi3 and download that. Also, you CANNOT use an SD card larger than 2GB or you'll have problems too. So first, upload the new firmware (using the AC adapter plugged directly into the bottom of the radio) and the cable that they gave you to hook up to your computer and do the firmware update. Delphi customer service can walk you through this too. Good luck, you'll get it pretty soon.
