Durabrand portable dvd player motor spin but disk not playing

I put the disk (dvd) in and the motor starts to spin loudly almost out of control while nothing is showing on the screen. Then it stops and reads no disk.
How can I solve this problem?

I only had this player for almost less than a year and cannot find Durabrand 800 number to call.

i have zeenith and you cannot turn it on there is just a red screen. We think i burned the motor out.

My portable DVD player either doesnt load disc, message is loading disc, but it never laods or it states "No Disc".

DVD says loading.... but keeps turning, stops, turns, stops

It is a problem with the laser. Getting a lens cleaner could help, but it is doubtful. Your best bet, tap the unit while the disk is trying to load.

There is a motor that moves the laser into place. Often the motor burns out or it does not focus correctly after a while. Sometimes, they just get stuck. A tap may kick start the motor into place if it is stuck. Most likely, you will have to replace the unit.

P.S. Toothpaste and electronics don't mix. CD players get extremely hot. You will eventually be cleaning Crest out of your DVD player.

No disk

The drive motor may be bad and the disk is not spinning up or the laser is probably bad and it is not reading the disk.
You may also want to make sure that the disk is firmly on the spindle. The Durabrand players have a stiff spindle and you have to press firmly till it clicks in or it won't spin up, causing the error.

My Portable DVD Player wont play

you may have a dirty dvd, these players are very sensitive. try cleaning it or better yet put in a new one. if that doesn't fix it, i'd say return it for another. good luck.

its the disk not the machine put one of last years disks in and try it
new disks have new formats that older players cant recognize now the corprate industry maken money by selling bogus disks so where you have to upgrade your players which means buy new ones

ribbon cable issue found with this device. look inside at the white ribbon cable. The cable likes to bunch in bewtween the spinning hub and the eye assembly, after time it may even develope a rub spot that will shut you down for good. If the cable is bunched up, try pushing it back into the bottom of the device and try again.

Disk is not spinning in emerson portable dvd

if the disc doesn't spin, it sounds like a bad motor. can you hear the laser adjust? if you do, then it's probably a dead motor, if you can't hear that laser adjust at all, and the motor doesn't spin at all, the connection might have come undone(they both share a connection)
