Question about Panasonic PT-53WX42 53" Rear Projection Television
No power, red power light keeps flashing tv won,t turn on
I had the same issue and fixed it yesterday. One of the convergence IC chips went bad. I purchased two new ones (part number STK392-110) to replace the bad ones. After I took the board out I noticed that one of the chips didn't have as much heat conductive grease on it. I replaced that one and reassembled the TV. I turned on the TV and everything worked ok. I had to reset the convergence but it ran for about two hours yesterday without any problems.

My tv started with the convergence problem. I was able to align all the 8 crosses but still did not solved it. The right side shows wavy and heavily converged problem but the left side is OK. After 3 days it would not turn on at all. The red LED at the front blinks 5 times. Is the convergence problem and eventually not turning on related?

I had the same problem with the 47" version. I called the Sears technician who tried for more than an hour to fix the problem, even calling Panasonic. Final solution: a board repair for $550. Now I have a plasma and a big desk.
