SOURCE: FRIDGE WILL NOT IGNITE IN GAS MODE

The part you are looking for is the thermo couple. It senses the heat from the flame and holds the gas valve open. The clicking will try three times and then go into lock out. You then will need to reset on the front of the fridge. When installing the thermo couple do not over tighten.

SOURCE: AC,DC, gas RV fridge Dometic

You more than likely need to replace the control cable between the upper and lower board. It comes as a kit with the upper board. You can also do a bypass test by unplugging your thermoster from the circuit board. The thermoster is the temperature control for the refrigerator nothing to do with the freezer.

SOURCE: My dometic 2652 runs is not cooling on gas or

Is there a yellow powder substance on the coils, heating tube or anywhere towards the bottom? If so, you have a leak. The best thing to do is:
1-Find a replacement unit online( ebay is a good place to start)
2-unhook electric line and gas line from the access panel
3-remove the refrigerator from the inside and place doors down(its heavy and you will probably need another person to help)
4-remove cooling unit from back of refridgerator
5-make sure you have enough thermo-mastik for the unit/coil contacts
6-replace cooling unit and hook up everything in reverse
7-turn on and let it cool for a few hours. My unit stays below 32F and works great.

Found the first one listed on ebay just now for $399.00 with a five (5) year warranty.

SOURCE: Camper fridge dont cool

I also had the same Model Make. I removed my fridge and placed it upside down, occasionally shaking fridge within a 24 hr period. This seemed to re-mix the ammonia solution and the fridge is working.
This may work for you but look for yellow stains if you see any your fridge is leaking and would require repair.

What do I check to fix my Dometic Americana refrigerator. It won't start using electric or gas.

Fist off before you get crazy replacing things make sure the camper is level when testing this. Gas will not run to it if you are not level. Also make sure the gas is turned on and make sure you have selected automatic or gas only on your fridge. Also give it about an hour before you test the temp. These take a bit longer to start feeling cool. If all of that does not work you will need to check the refrigerant, igniter(for the gas side) and the compressor. Also make sure the fuses are good to go at the main panel and that the breakers are in the "on" position

I have a Dometic fridge model number RM2612 in a camper that i just purchased used and the fridge isn't cooling. The freezer section seems to be okay. The metal plate in the freezer gets cold but

Make sure it is level, has proper airflow out through top vent. Also check baffle, or stack where flame sits under and blow it out good with compressed air to make sure it's clean. If you smell a hint or strong smell of ammonia, shut it off, it has a leak in cooling unit. If all ok in that area, shut it off, disconnect and plug propane line, disconnect power and remove the fridge. Turn the fridge upside down for a day or 2, then re-install and let it sit 24 hrs before turning it back on. Quite often that will take care of any blockage in flow of cooling liquid, and get things back to normal if cooling unit is still good.

Won't run on electric some times. uses full tank

Hello,Well sounds like you got a real problem. These fridges don't use very much propane when in use,you may have a major leak in the line somewhere or connection? If you do have a leak please do not use repair as soon as possible. And for the electrical part you may have a loose connection where the fridge plugs into the outlet located behind the fridge located outside your camper, hope this helps

Our Dometic RM2193 cools on gas but does not work on electric

It could be as simple as a blown fuse at the fridge. Also check to make sure you have turned on the electric switch that allows the fridge to run on AC. Note, you can only operate the fridge on EITHER gas OR electric, but not both sources at the same time, thus, you have to turn off the gas switch before you can run on electric.

When this unit is running on electricity, it has to have the thermostat set for it to run.

Here's a link to the Dometic manual for your model.

http://www.alcovr.com/DATA/MANUEL/DometicRefrigeratorModelsRM2191&RM2193.pdf

Just follow the steps for running on electric and you should be OK.
Hope this helps.

Problem with the electric on fridge not working

Hello Paintinfool3,

I have worked on these in the DISTANT past...
They are a great CLASSIC design... Working on gas
means you are 90 to 95% all good

The electric comprises two basic elements
only confused because you have both AC & DC modes.

Just for simplicity sake the ELECTRIC section
(heater & thermostat) section in the BELOW begins
with SECTION 63...

You need a volt-meter with an OHM scale...
(the $9 kind... HARBORFRIEGHT gives away).

There is a yes/no trouble shooting guide.

Also CUSTOMER CONTACT numbers in the very back.
