Are you using a cable box / dish network etc reciever? Does it have 3 component video cables (red, green and blue cables). Often times color problems like that are a result of your cables coming loose out of the set or cable box. Make sure that they are snug and secure and in the correct spots on both the reciever and the television. Don't just assume they are, make sure to check all of the cables. I am a television repairman and even though I tell everyone this, at least once a week I have a call where this is the problem.

I know this was posted 4 years ago but I had this problem today. Sure enough it was the cables. Thank You for this info. It stopped me from going crazy.

My TV works fine. The only problem is that when i'm watching a movie, or playing PS3 the field seems dark. Sometimes is FIFA Soccer, in the shadow, i can't even see my players because of the dark...

It is possible that there is a allergy that is growing the blue and green gun, it will not grow in the red gun, and it blocks the video and makes it look dark, on the greenish side. To fix the problem, you have to change the coolant in the guns, and then it will look like new again.

Over time a thin layer of fungi grows over the top of your BLUE CRT preventing light fronm shining through. This causes you to loose the blue color in your set. Check and clean. Also when the back is off your set check to see if your blue CRT is on. If not you may need to replace it.

Blue colors are now green.

It sounds connections are not matched yet. Make sure connections are green to green, red to red and blue to blue in dvd player and tv are correct.
Try another component video cable.
If problem still exist, test dvd player to any other tv, found ok then component input of this TV is bad, need to get it repaired.

After having my dish network upgraded to HD and installed, i notice on my tv now that the green and red colors are not there, predominant on channels like ESPN that use these colors most. I._E.: football...

Sounds like one of the cables got plugged in wrong.

Look at the back of the HD box and there should be a cable with 5 ends on it (Green,Blue,Red, White and Red).

Often times a flashlight can help make sure you see the colors clearly.

The Green,Blue and one of the Reds is for video. The White and other red are for Audio.

When you unplug the connector the connection it is attached to is also colored. Check to make sure the colors on the cord match the color they are connected to at the box.
The most common mistakes connecting these cables are:
1) Crossing the Green and the Blue cables.
2) Connecting the Red Audio cable to the Red Video connection.

If all of the connections match the correct colors find the same cable where it plugs into the back of the TV and check these connections that they are correct.

When you find and move the cable to the correct connection this should clear up your color and you can begin to enjoy your new toys....

Good Luck....

Blue crt shot

The coolant in the blue tube has no doubt congealed to an oatmeal like consistancy. Did you notice things like blue halos around things for some period of times. change the coolant. that should correct the blue. this is a common thing for that model as well as all TVs. Blue and green has this happen, Red seems to not have the same trait.
