I had the same problem. be sure to change all transistors cause once one goes the rest useally goes right along with it... replaceing one or two transistors will not do the trick, cause once you power up again the rest of them will go, & you will have to repeat the prosses

Disconnect all speaker wires and signal cables from the amp. If it powers up (no protect light), the wiring needs to be checked. If it still shuts down (goes into protect), the amp likely has blown output transistors.

How do i reset my 4000 watt lanzar vibe 286 from being in protect mode

You can only reset it by disconnecting power to it. If it is in protect you may want to check your speakers and speaker wires for shorts and/or grounds. If they check out all right you may have internal problems in the amp.

I have a Lanzar Vibe 235 amp. the green power light is not coming on, but the red "protect" light is. how do i solve this problem??

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty. Time to purchase an old school Lanzar Opti Drive. Any of them. The 50 will kill some 12" subs .A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you. lanzar-vibe-235-amp-green-power-shonxoarcym4awy4zl1imx4o-2-0.jpg Lanzar

Prosound amp is running fine but the protect light is still on

Hello martinpresto,

The most likely causes are overheating and operating the amp into too low of an impedance. Or the amp itself could be failing. If the protect comes on immediately after the amp has cooled overnight, it's probably not overheating. Too low of an impedance can be caused by a shorted voice coil.

You can check the load with a multimeter. Disconnect the speaker wires and measure their resistance with a multimeter. Since the published impedance is nominal and varies with frequency, you'll be reading the DC resistance. Some manufacturers include the figure in their "R subscript e" specification. Usually, it's a little lower than the impedance. So a 4 ohm load may read 3.2 ohms. If the DC resistance checks OK, it's probably the amp itself.

Hope this helps.

Lanzar Vibe 1200D protection light

You will need to show it to a service technician as it seems the output section has blown so it remains in protect mode. One reason (could be) that the input to the amp was high and may have been clipping for some time before the amp decided it could take it no more

Protection mode on Lanzar Vibe 241

Almost without exception, if the protection light comes on as soon as you power it up, the output transistors are defective. Any reputable repair shop that services car audio equipment should be able to repair it.
