Are there any parts betwee motor and coupler. Coupler is not broken.

Turntable rotates with a jerky motion. When I called GE service center they said it could be bearing or something between motor and coupler.

JVM1850BD002 is a correct model number. This is a GE made by Samsung. It sounds like the motor or coupler is bad. More likely the motor. If you grab the motor shaft and try to gently turn it, it may grind or slip a lot. That's a sign of a bad motor. If the coupler is bad, it will be cracked or broken, causing it to slip on the motor shaft or the turntable itself. The coupler is reference 40, and the motor is reference 43 on this handy exploded view drawing: http://genet.geappliances.com/IPCNet/Dispatcher?REQUEST=IPCNETGETPDF&file=00000000/00016500/00016593.p01.pdf (copy & paste whole URL) Here is the GE part price info on these two parts: DESCRIPTION DRAWING PART NO. PRICE MOTOR-SYNCHRONOUS 43 WB26X10038 $46.00 COUPLER 40 WB06X10144 $8.75 If the motor is bad, you might be able to find the Samsung part number printed on the motor label and look it up at http://www.samsungparts.com They often have parts for far less than the expensive GE parts.

GE Profile Spacemaker XL1800 microwave turntable

The turntable system consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours is not set to be off via the control panel, and it won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven.

On some, you have to cut the motor cover off with snips, then use a screw when reassembling it.

GE Spacemaker XL1800 (jvm1850sh06) problem

Use a hair blow dryer to dry out the underside of the microwave. After you are convinced that it is dry you may operate it again.

That said, if it still is acting up read this:

When the microwave sounds okay, but there's no heat, one of the internal door switches, the high voltage circuitry, or the circuit board may have a problem. To resolve this problem, you need the assistance of a qualified appliance repair technician.

GE Spacemaker XL1800 does not heat. All other functions appear to be working normally, the light comes on and the turntable functions. When turned on, it makes a humming noise slightly louder than normal,...

Possible bad heating element, You should remove the cover of the unit and look at the heating element with the power off. Until you get your problem resolved I would recommend not to even turn it on due to the fact that you are unsure what is going on and you smelt some burnt smell. Just for safety until you fine the problem

Your turntable motor is shot. It's simple to remove and replace. you don't even have to take the microwave out of the shelf. To remove it take out seven screw around the perimeter of the bottom. Lift up on back of bottom to get over clips on the back. Remove the two screws holding the motor in and detach the plug. Find a electrical repair shop for you make pick it up and replace it. When replacing it take out plate and hold plate key down and align flat side of shaft on motor with the plate key.
