My advice on the color problem is the actual brother cartridges are the only ones that work best. anything else causes problems. if in useing a refill kit so dont use anything but Brother cartridges.

Another possibility for a refilled cartridge is that the wrong color ink was put in the wrong section of the cartridge. Just replace the cartridge with a new HP cartridge, if the problem goes away you know the problem was a defective cartridge. FYI when I buy refilled cartridges I always keep a new spare just in case. Refilling ink jet (or toner) cartridges requires skill and experience and not all refillers have it. If you buy refilled cartridges you will on occasions get a bad, keeping a new spare around ensures you wont run out of ink when you really need to print.

The cartridge prints colors correctly on his printer but not yours.

Since your friend refilled your cartridge did he cover the hole he used to insert the ink? If he didn?t or if it came off when you inserted the cartridge in your printer that could have caused ink to literally dump out. Its possible that some excess ink contaminated the yellow reservoir causing your brownish color. Pull your cartridges out and clean up any spills you may find. Then look in your printer?s maintenance mode; in there you should see an option to clean the nozzles of your printer. Run that once, print a test page and see if that makes it any better. If not try at least two more times and run the test print again. This should clean out any additional contamination left in the ink reservoir and hopefully result in nice colors again.

I am assuming from your brief problem description that you are getting bad colors when you changed your color cartridge. Are you using a new and certified HP ink cartridge? Are you doing a refill of your old ink cartridge or have bought one of those "re-manufactured" cartridges? The head in the cartridge is very sensitive - when they are damaged or poorly handled - it could result in cross contamination of the color inks. Hence - the brownish color you see could be the result of that cross-contam. My impression is that the remanufactured or older or continously refilled cartridges may be more prone to getting damaged - maybe bec of inherent wear out. Hope this helps.

if just wiping the head fixed the problem, one thing to watch out for is if one of the ink reservoirs is leaky. you're lucky that contamination in the actual inks didn't happen - hence you can still print ok. But I'd be careful in case there's leaky ink going out of your cartridge.

If there is a leak, the best case, is that a particular ink will drain faster... or worst case, it'll make a mess in your printer.

Keep a watch if the situation dictates that you have to frequently wipe the head - possible sign of ink continuing to leak out.

Changing the transmission cooling lines on my 2000 Grand Am GT. Is it totally necessary to pull the pan and fully drain the transmission?

Nothing will happen. Removing the pan is to change the filter and get more fresh oil in the system . Look at the color of the fluid red is new brown is replace me soon in 10k or so black is yesterday or replace trans in 10k or less.

My 1990 toyota celica transmission sometimes takes 15 to30 seconds to go into drive. What should I do?

Warm up engine until you see the temp indicator come up off the C mark about 1/8 inch. This should take about 5-8 minutes. Shut off engine and check transmission fluid level. Always check level with engine warmed up. After adding fluid, run it again for 5 minutes to warm up the fluid you just put in, and check it again. Do not over fill. Also examine color of your fluid. It should be red. If it is brown, or reddish brown, it's burnt. Drain fluid, remove pan, clean off magnet inside of pan. clean out sludge from pan. replace filter and gasket.replace pan, refill fuid, warm up and check level.

Hey there, Please guide me for the wire connections for Shark GI490 Iron along with the color code so that it can work back again. I will appreciate you assistance.

The advice given here is totally incorrect. Please ignore Azraelsrl solution. Being incorrect makes it very dangerous!!!
Blue or black = Neutral red or brown = phase green or green/yellow = earth.
If in doubt, you should get a qualified electrician to replace the cord to your iron. Getting it wrong... can easily kill someone!!!
