Panasonic 42 inch HD Plasma TV (2 years old) remote sensor

It seems the remote sensor on the TV has somehow partially failed. I have the Direct TV remote as well as the remote that came with the TV. Both have new batteries and the Direct TV remote works fine with the Direct TV DVR/Satallite box. However, when I go to increase/decrease volume, it stopped working for no reason. I thought it might be the remote itself so I used the actual Panasonic Remote and none of the functions from the remote to the TV worked. Just for kicks, I walked up to the TV and put the remote about 10 inches from the remote sensor on the TV and it worked. The same was true using the Direct TV remote. So my conclusion is the remote sensor on the TV has lost it's ability to sense the remote signal from more than 10 inches away. I turned the TV off and even unplugged it trying to "RESET" everything. It didn't work. Do you have any suggestions?

Take your tv and remote to a technician to check on your emitting diode and a photo senser, both are working but not very sensitive. the components are not gone but about to go. if you remove a senser from tv it can not receive, so that senser is sensing some thing, also check an amplifier just after a senser plse do that.

My Sansui HDPDP4200 42 inch Plasma stopped powering up. When I hit the power button (both on the TV or by the remote) the green light comes on for about 2 seconds then shuts off. I tried to turn it back on...

Plasma TV's are notorious for power supply problems, its most likely failing capacitors in the power supply. If you can find a repair shop i would take it in, otherwise you might also be able to find a replacement power supply board online, but its a crapshoot to find a good one so its better to try and repair/rebuild the one you have. If all else fails its just time for a new TV. It sucks, i know, but i see so many 2-3 year old TV's failing its like a plague of the repair shop.

I have a Sylvania 42 inch Plasma HD TV. It is 3

Hello

Before taking this to a local repair person, I suggest you check with your cable provider. See if they are having trouble with their HD transmission and then have them test your lines. Out here in Arizona with have constant problems with HD due to heat, rodents and poor installations. Your DVR only recorded the problems that were on your set. If these prove fruitless then take the TV to a reputable repair person.

Good Luck

Plasma TV with vertical lines

Help! My Plasma by Magnavox is putting black verticle lines on the right side of the screen - comes and goes - and I replaced the entire Direct TV-HD unit - wires, everything - and had TV company repair - and it still came back. The TV repair refuses to take TV back because it does not show up when they come. Although I videotaped it and showed them which has the date and time - they still refused to take it - and tried to get me to sign a paper saying it was working while they were there - which of course I refused to sign - so they left and nastily said they will not be back-find someone else. I still have the lines - and do not know what to do! Can anyone help?

Coloured Pixels in or around black areas when watching TV

This is know as a diffusion issue. Most times this can be corrected with some minor alignment on the pots on the YSUS pwb. Sometimes the YSUS pwb has failed and will need to be replaced.
