A disk error is a fatal error on the hard drive, SMART monitoring will show you this in the BIOS, restoring to factory settings will not cure it.
You need to get a new hard disk and reinstall your OS

SOURCE: ERROR: 03-EEEE-000

this is option A

- enter BIOS pressing F2 or else while booting,
- change boot configuration :
1st floppy drive a: (if it has one), else cd/dvd drive
2nd usb or network boot
3rd harddisk

- exit saving changes(ESC or F10).
- insert xp or win2000 setup cd and wait if it is recognized and tries to install,
if yes and c:(the harddisk is accessable), youre lucky, if c: isn't. leave the win-setup.(F3)
shut down a total (if freezes, pull the plug, remove battery,)
until no power is sent to mainboard.
you didn't break anything doing so!
and leave it as it is.

THEN!
start worrying about exchanging the c-mos battery(the little flash-memory device on the board that keeps in mind all the system components attached)
( it' a button cell, you'll have to remove some parts to axxess it.)

before doing so, please come back with results of the option A given

SOURCE: SMART Failure Predicted on Hard Disk 4: Hitachi-(S1)-ToshibLaptop

that will be expensive. i just went to microcenter and asked them, they said many hundreds of dollars just to look at it, then like 1600 for the cheapest recovery...

I would

1. stop using it immediately. (after an error like that, you may have only minutes of life left on it)
2. get a 25 dollar external enclosure to put the drive into. If it's IDE make sure you get an IDE enclosure, if SATA, get SATA compat. external enclosure.
3. get another computer, o rgo to a friends house, etc, and try to read your data on their computer after plugging in your hard drive inside the external enclosure.
4. if you can see it, rush like mad to copy the data thats important to your friends computer before the drive is 100% dead.

microcenter and similar stores have external hard drives at $129 dollars for a terabyte. BUY ONE! :-)

Good luck

PS: rumors go around that if you freeze the hard drive in your freezer for an hour, it helps get the data off, dont know if this is in fact true. Once the drive is dead, it's dead. You cant do much about it unless youre willing to part with a lot of money.

SOURCE: toshiba satellite a215-s7437 bios pw

There is a well know issue with Toshiba laptops of certain models, where at startup suddenly ask for a password.
There is NO WAY you can reset that.
You must take it to the nearest Toshiba authorized service center.
There will be no charge for it.
You should first call them to get an authorization number.
Their number is 1(800)457-7777
Just tell them that your laptop is asking for a password at boot up, and give them your model number.

They will also flash the CMOS so this issue won't repeat again.

SOURCE: toshiba a215-s7437 bios password what is it?

from release it doesn't have a bios password, the shop who slod the laptop to you must have put the password in, or maybe someone you know put it in. the only way you are going to get around this is to ether give the password from who put it in or take it to a IT shop and have them remove the bios battary overnight and then put it in again. that will remove all password settings and change all bios settings back to default settings

Use a USB mouse for the meantime and try doing a system restore to a date when it was working fine before How to perform system restore (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGXbMyFaROw)

If system restore did not resolve the issue then try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver for your touchpad.

You can go to toshiba website and download their latest touchpad drivers for your a215-s7437.

Error : 10-FC12-0570 when i try to reinstall with the cds

Error 10-FC12-0570 on Toshiba satellite This error message means that the recovery utility was not able to read the data from the disc correctly, or wasn't able to write it to the hard drive.
The problem could be with the disc, the CD/DVD drive or the hard drive.

Solution:

Try copying the second disc using another system. If it's impossible: order for a new disc. If you can copy it, try using the copy to do the restore.

Try using a third party disk checker to verify the problem, is or is not, with the hard drive.

The best way would be to load the Windonws Vista discs, format the pc and reinstall.
(Vista Recovery Boot Cd is available free by Microsoft). Download it burn the Image .iso and run that disc. That disc will not restore the OS: run diagnostics on the HDD; once disk check is completed and repaired, proceed with the Recovery disks that you have.

System corrupted and would not boot during installation of sp 1

Try cheking the Bios Settings Before Runing the Recovery CD.
Is your computer's bios set up to boot from the cd rom or hard drive first?
If so, try changeing the setting so the computer boots from the CD Rom.

Toshiba Satellite A215-S7437 Laptop Password Problem?

You should first check if the pasword is set on the hard drive. If so you can simply change the hard drive and it will then boot and ask for the operating system disk. If not, you should try by removing the cmos battery and waiting at least 10 minutes. (this works on older laptops) however, the laptop's power suply cable and battery should be removed prior to performing this procedure.
