Will my Norstar phone does not work when i plug it into my BTSocket at home..?

Tried new Norstar in BT socket at Home and can't get a dialling tone..?

Have you tried un plugging then plugging them back in to reset them, if not you may have to power cycle the main system.

You need to change your contrast, user Feature *7, and press 1 2 3 or 4, when you find the desired contrast level, press hold

To access your voice mail remotely, while a greeting is playing (either the mail greeting or your own mail box greeting) press ** followed by your mail box number, password followed by the # ( ex. **,221,1234,#).

The Nortel T7208 set is propriatary which requires an MICS, CICS, or a BCM system to make it work.

Its the problem from the system.

Go to the programming of Norstar by Feature **266344 and the password is 266344.
Go to line datd or line and make dialling made as Tone.
It will fix ur problem.

Fax nightmare!!!

If you have a BT line and use the 1571 answering facility , when you have a message waiting the dialling tone changes from a constant tone to a split tone. This is to let you know that you have one or more messages waiting.

In order to get the dialling tone to revert to the constant tone you have to deal with the waiting messages in accordance with the options provided i.e Save, Listen Again or Delete. BT say the Split Tone is to let subscribers know when they have a message waiting. This should resolve the Fax problem.

It certainly worked for my phone/fax system.
