Car amplifier stopped working.

I currently have a Juice 500 watt amplifier hooked up to an edge 900 watt subwoofer and a jbl 1200 watt subwoofer but the amplifier packed in and stopped working. The red protection mode light is now constantly lighting up after playing it loud and the blue power light flashes on and off about every 2 seconds. I have checked all the connections, subwoofers and also inside the amplifier and cannot see anything burned or out of place. Ive tried everything and would really appriciate if someone could at least tell me what might be wrong with it. Thanks!

SOURCE: Red light on Amplifier

if your amplifier has the internal Kicker card dealie "little computer card on the side that you can change out crossover settings and such," Turn off the vehicle, remove this device and make sure the contacts on the card are clean and free from black soot (showing a spark). clean the contacts with a pencil eraser or something hard but soft... and put the little card back in place, start the car again and see if that helps, I used to lose one speaker every once in a while with the same amp. I ended up replacing the module with a different one from my dealer and it worked fine (still does and it's been in my car 6 years). Check that little module. if this doesnt work, while the car is running and the music is "playing" wiggle the card and see if it works sometimes and not others. Likely is the little module.

SOURCE: Amp Power light will not go on. Protection light is lit- Thump sound in speakers

It probably has shorted output transistors. To eliminate other possible causes, read through the following page.

SOURCE: Amplifier power light will not turn on. subwoofers will not work.

Recheck the fuse on the amp, if the fuse is good, try replacing it anyway, if that doesn't work your amp has blown an internal component, (most likely an output transistor). it is probably cheaper to replace the amp than repair it.

I have JBL GT5-S644 ,4chnnel,800 watts, bridgeable car amplifier. Is it possible to pair this amp with 2 pioneer 900 watts subwoofers working with 12 volt adapter at 80 amps in 240 volt in home ?

Hello
yes it is possible but you will find that the amp is going to be under powered to drive all three subs, will have to look at getting a stronger amp later. hope you enjoy rattling the house apart.
Enjoy

What size amp needed with a sony explod player?

this bandpass enclosure is rated peak power at 1200 watts . what this means is that each subwoofer in the is peaked at 600watts to make 1200 watts . what your looking for is to power up the subs with rms continuous wattage . you need an amp that will put out 400 to 500 rms a channel to run this sub enclosure at 800 to 1000 watts rms to keep the speaker from blowing

audiopipe apf1801
71671968.jpg this amp will give you 1 channel @ 4 ohm x1 350 watts 1 channel @ 2 ohm x1 900 wats 1 channel @ 1 ohm x1 1800 watts you would have extra power for better subs with more power later but you get 900 watts which when connected right would mean 450 watts per sub be perfect for you . i sell this for $320.99 in my store can shipp any where in usa to contact me [email protected]

Is my 1200 pioneer amp a good match for my 1200 watt pioneer sub

this is too close, your speaker wattage is alway's higher than your amplifier's wattage alway's to be safe because the hard pounding will make the speaker work harder, and this will cause your speaker burn out easily, though you can adjust your amplifier anyway's

I hooked up 2channel 500 watt amplifer and 1200 watt 300 rms subwoofer now the protection light comes on when i turn up volume

your speakers rating is too low for your amplifier. 300 watts RMS means the speaker can operate on an average of 300 Watts continuously. the 1200 watt rating is peak wattage input and meant for intermittent intervals only, a like a bass drum beat count. also , your speaker impedance must match your amplifier impedance or the speaker must be a higher impedance than the amplifier. Never lower than the amplifier's impedance output rating. If The amplifier is rated into an 8 ohm load, your speaker must be 8 ohms or higher. in other words you cannot use a 4 ohm speaker or you will damage the amplifier .

How i wire my sub to my jbl gto301-1iiamp with 2 Hifonics HFi12D4

If the amp is 1200 watts at 2 ohm stable you will want to set up the speakers as parrallel and bridge the amp. That means conncect the speakers with + to + and - to -. Look at the amp connections. Usually thereare connects that look like this:
+ -
+ - + -

If yours look like this use the diagram on top. You will use the + for the left ouput on the amp to the right - on the amp. This will allow you to use all the power from the amp. Be sure to lower the gain as to not pop the speakers or amp.
