The sliding door to the rear passenger/camping area won't open. The handle on the outside of the car squeezes 1/2 way, but won't disengage the mechanism, the inner handle moves freely but does not affect the door at all. Lock pull (the bit you would push or pull from inside car to lock or unlock) also moves, but does not change the handle experience.
Did you ever get the sliding door handle fixed? I have the exact same problem and would love to know how you fixed it. Please email me at [email protected] thanks!
SOURCE: Driver side door lock seems mechanically "stuck"
there are several screws you have to remove remove the trim piece around the inside handle the panel lifts off dont pry it off or it will break the door latch usually binds and has to be replaced
SOURCE: 2005 Toyota Sienna Sliding Door Won't Open
Have 2005 Sienna and its Driver side door was not openning. Cheap dealer fixed it himself in front of me. After opening the doors plastic assembly while sitting inside with a screw driver. Then he bent the clip towards left where the metal wire is connected. If you guys want to see what he did i would record a video and upload for you guys. Let me know at [email protected]
You are on the right track.
Door panel is easy to take off. you need a screwdriver and a panel popper (or if you don't have one carefully pull the panel off with your hands, you may have to get new panel clips) ,they are cheap so no big deal.
SOURCE: Rear driver-side door will not open. Neither
the rod or latch has miss aligned, it will be a a hole but you have to take door card off and remove actuator to see if broken or bent, if bent you need to free up the door lock
SOURCE: the rear passenger right hand door does not open with remote
child safety locks or bent linkage ?

Two questions: 1)can I access the inside of the door panel with it closed? 2)If I can, how? If I can't what the heck am I supposed to do?
Did you get this fixed? I have the same problem.
