There is no mechanical thermostat. Turbo Air uses a set of sensors that change resistance with temperature. On refrigerator models...both the sensors will measure 29-31 kohm at +32F. The MAXIMUM series, depending on which year you have, will have one or two sensors, but they will still have that ohm reading. *Two sensors mean the one in the evap coil controls the compressor off of coil temp and the one on the wall is just a thermometer. **One sensor means it senses air temp and and controls the compressor from the return air temp and also displays the temp on the screen.

Icemaker is slow in producing ice

If your icemaker is producing ice, but it is slow, there are 2 likely explanations.
1. Temperature. Water freezes at 32 deg, but the icemaker won't eject the ice until it gets below 10 degrees. If you always had good ice output and all of a sudden it has slowed down, you're temperature is a little higher than ideal. Check for a door seal not making good contact or try dropping the temp in the FREEZER side a couple degrees
2. New model. Most new refrigerators make ice much slower than older models to meet energy efficiency guidelines. This is not a repairable issue.

Hello,

Yes the thermister is the electronic thermostat...on models such as yours that has a computer control a thermister is used..on models that the knob is turned to set the temp. and has no digital dispay a thermostat is used

The part number for the thermister is 2188819
It fits by air damper in the fresh food compartment in the upper left corner of the fresh food compartment

Sometimes when the refrigerator temp is 37* some of the food will get frozen.

Your thermostat is faulty. The vegetables cannot freeze at 37 degrees. It will not freeze until it's at 32 degrees. The sensor is wrong as it is impossible to freeze anywhere above 32.

The compressor and fan won't come on but there is power supply working for the lights

Without your MAKE & model number; all I can do is tell you what can cause this symptom.

At the end of the defrost cycle the defrost control is supposed to get a signal from either a 60 deg bi-metal thermostat or thermistor (depending upon make & model) That signal starts the clock either mechanical or electronic that signeals the compressor to start. The fan automatically will run when the compressor runs. If the defrost thermostat or thermistor is not working correctly the unit will start a defrost cycle but never finish so it completly defrosts.

The termperature control will also cause this symptom. If the corntacts in the temp control fail the compressor will not restart.

Just from reading your symtoms I think you have a problem with one of the following:
1. Defrost thermostat or thermistor
2. Defrost control
3. Temp control

Most of the time it is either 2 or 1 above in that order.

If you respond with a make and model number I will use that to determine if there is anything you can do at this time to troubleshoot.

Refrigerator side temp keeps dropping below freezing.

Set the freezer temp control to MAX cold and see if it improves.
If not replace the off/on thermostat.(cold control)
