Your compressor is damaged. It must be either serviced or recharged. This is going to require a service call no matter what the solution due to the need for recharge after the compressor is replaced.

the exach reason for this problem is listed here please know the problem
Compressor won't run or it is "clicking' on and off: This normally could be a bad start relay and over load for the compressor, dirty condenser coils need cleaning, condenser fan motor is not running or the compressor itself. To check the compressor properly you should test it with an amp meter, each compressor is rated in running amps ( see model/serial tag or the sticker on the compressor )...if the compressor is drawing too much current, this may be why it is shutting off. Check the model tag for proper amp rating. Some relays will be easy to notice the broken with them, they may be burnt. Example one, example two, example three. Some of these relays can be removed and give them a little shake, and if they rattle around inside the relay is likely bad. Compressors can also seize and click on and off or one of the electrical windings inside the compressor could have opened up. You can use a test cord to help check the compressor and this also will help with the amp test. If the compressor checks ok and you want to install a replacement start relay. You will need to find out which winding is which. You will need an ohm meter to determine the windings. First check to see if you have windings in the compressor. Then check to see if they are grounded. If the compressor has windings and they are not grounded, you can find which winding is which. Check for grounded windings by reading from each terminal to a good ground on the cabinet. Read from the top terminal to the lower left terminal. Read from the top terminal to the lower right terminal. Read from the lower left terminal to the lower right terminal. Write down the resistance of each reading as you go. The highest reading you get will be the run and start winding of the compressor in series with each other. The other terminal left will be the common terminal. Read from the common terminal to each of the other terminals. The terminal with the lower resistance will be the run winding. The higher resistance the start winding. Using the original style relay is always preferred, but using a general replacement can "get you by" if needed

Older refrigerators had electric heaters on the edges of the refrigerator cabinet to help prevent moisture from building up, especially in the hot/hazy weather in the summer time. These electric heaters usually had a switch where you could turn them on or off...had words like..."switch here to prevent moisture"...switch here in damp weather".... in the picture it is in the top left of the control assembly.
Then along came the energy crunch. The manufactures stopped using the electric heaters and started running a pass of the hot condenser tubing on the edges of the cabinet where the electric heaters use to be. This is often called a yoder loop tube SxS version and the yoder loop tube Top freezer version. This has now replaced the electric heaters. If you feel heat/hot around the door opening of your refrigerator you should....
- clean the condenser coils as a dirty condenser can make the tubing hotter than normal
- check/clean & replace if necessary the condenser cooling fan ( # F ) motor, if the condenser fan motor is slow or has quit the yoder loop pass will get very warm/hot to the touch
- If the condenser coils are clean and the condenser fan motor is running ok, check the fresh food and freezer section temperatures...if the refrigerator is not operating well and the temps inside are warming up, you could feel more heat/warmth than normal

SOURCE: leveling refrigerator

In a Home the recommended level (front higher to back lower) is 1/4" (Right to Left - level)
Never less than in order to allow door to shut own their own, but there is nothing wrong with having a perfect level refrig if everyone closes the doors properly which they won't. A refrigerator requires to be reasonable leveled to avoid compressor fatigue. In a Motorhome people can't always find level ground, so it quite frequent that their refrigerator burns up when running. From that experience I'd say I would level any fridge which is over 1/2 inch off.

How do I level my domestic kelvinator fridge . the floor seems to be level . I recently relocated to Cairns

the front feet under the door opening are adjustable screws. You may have to use a shifter to get them to move as they mat be rusted . adjust so the fridge slopes slightly to the rear. This keeps any moisture on the back wall to drain out the hole and the door will close if left open

Bosch fridge with freezer on top, when closing fridge door freezer door pops open and does not shut by its self, what adjustments can be made?

The front of the unit needs to be raised so that there is a slight slope from front to back. This can be accomplished by turning the front leveling legs counter clockwise.

Top door will not close by itself on fridge

Sounds like the floor of the house.. might be your problem..Try moving the fridge out of its position and build a small flat platform in that place and level it, then place your fridge on top of it..just in case u may need a little final adjustment get those small wooden wedge shims when you get your wood..they sell them at lowes or Most lumber yards....that should take care of the leveling..good luck..good luck

The freezer door opens if the refrigerator door is closed hard

this is quite normal on a lot of fridges ! if it isnt closing again by its self you need to re-level the fridge and have it very slightly backwards . alternatively the fridge is not level side to side !. open the main door a third to halfway open and let it go, it should close under its own weight, if not adjust up on the hinged side leg or down on the opposite side , if the front legs are not not adjustable pull it out and adjust the back legs , a quick fix, is to chock up the front leg and all will be ok ,regards terry ps, clean the seals and the fridge where the seals make contact the seals probably do not need replacing unless the fridge is very very old. a lot of people replace seals when its not needed. regs terry

My side by side fridge door does not close by itself when released

It is likely that your fridge is tilted left or right, and possibly forward at the same time. Most refrigerator doors will self-close if the fridge is slightly tilted both back and to the handle. The fridge is raised or lowered by adjusting the front feet or rollers.

The problem you'll encounter with a side-by-side fridge is that if you adjust for the right-hand door to self-close, there's a good chance that the left-hand door will want to stay or fully open; if you don't check it while making the adjustments. It can take a little extra time to make sure the adjustments make the front both perfectly level left to right, AND slightly higher in the front than the back.

I need to level the refrigerator. The back needs

Hello Monty, If you can roll the fridge out, you'll likely see the adjustment screws for the rear wheels, (if equipped). If the rear wheels are fixed, as most are, you can put a couple of wooden shims down on the floor where the wheels will be and roll the fridge back into place and then make the leveling adjustments from the front wheels.

If the amount of height adjustment is greater than a half an inch, you can use a solid piece of plywood the width of the fridge and about 4-6" wide and place that at the back. Roll the fridge in until it hits the plywood and tilt the fridge forward about 2 inches and push it back until the rear wheels are on the plywood. You can then, again, level the fridge using the front wheel/leg levelers.

I've found that it's easier to get a good idea of just how much out of level the space is where the fridge is being placed. Then you can make the changes using the best materials for the situation. Shims are fine for small adjustments, while the full width plywood is more consistent and easier to adjust, as the fridge will likley get moved out every 6 months or so, for cleaning of the coils and behind the fridge.

Remember that ideally, you want the front of the fridge just slightly higher than the back, so the doors will close by themselves, when opened almost 90 degrees and released by hand. Gravity should then take over and automatically close the doors, ensuring a good seal to keep the fridge closed and running properly.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Can't get fridge to level. It is high on the front.

It could be that the leveling bolts have been damaged and you aren't able to adjust them properly. If that is the case, you can attempt to correct the problem by using a ratcheting wrench to raise/lower them to re-thread them, however this doens't always work.

You may need to put down a piece of plywood at the rear of the fridge to get it more level, but remember that you don't want the fridge to be perfectly level anyway, as having the front slightly higher than the rear of the unit will allow the doors to "auto close" when opened to 90 degrees or less, especially nice when small children are in the house and don't always make sure the door(s) are closed when they're done.

Also most manufacturers design their fridges to be installed with the front just slightly higher than the back to aid in drainage of water produced when the unit goes into the defrost cycle every 8 to 24 hours. Hope this helps.
