Sharp carousel2 microwave convection model number r-8350 flashing but control panel won't work

Many parts for this model are long since no longer available, but many generic parts are available.

Chances are your control circuit board needs repair. After all these years, the electrolytic capacitors dry internally and that can cause bizarre symptoms.

I can repair your board, normally for $54.95, which includes insured return shipping, but if your membrane keypad is bad, it cannot be repaired.

For details and more free DIY and other help & advice, feel free to contact me directly.

Please include FULL model number*, FCC ID number*, + detailed symptom information.

GE model JES1456BJ04 Serial #DR901896B the unit turns on by itself and will also get the F3 error code and the "veggies" turn will so on the display w/no provacation. Sounds similar to what a...

"F3" on a GE microwave means you have a shorting membrane keypad.
It is part number WB27X10816 and Sears Parts Direct online indicates that the keypad is still available, but I have my doubts. You will just have to place an order with them, and they will notify you in a few days if it's not really available. Annoying, but they're the only game in town on this part.
If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.
If you would like to have me replace it for you, I would do that for $54.95, which includes insured return shipping.
I would have you either order it and have them drop-ship it to me, or order it yourself and include it with your control panel assembly when you send it to me for repair.
If you decide to send yours in for repair, here is the info you need:
DISASSEMBLY
For disassembly info, you can watch the video at my site, or see these text files: http://www.microwavecontrol.com/safety.htm
http://www.microwavecontrol.com/disassembly.htm
Be very careful when disconnecting the cables & wires. I would photograph or mark the wires during disassembly. Also, some connectors have a locking tab: WHAT TO SEND
I really need the entire control panel assembly - the plastic frame, keypad and control circuit boards - as shown in the attached example photo.
(So once you've detached this assembly from the chassis of the microwave, no further disassembly is required or desired)
Yours should have a "mini-manual" (technical sheet) hidden either behind the grille or control panel. I'd appreciate if you send that, too. I'll copy & return it. And please include my repair formand include yourmodel numberandFCC ID numberfrom the tag, or e-mail or print a clear photo of the tag.
(The repair form has my address, shipping recommendations, payment information, and basic terms of service.) TURNAROUND
If needed, I can rush it for you if you simply write "RUSH" in just the top margin of my repair form.
WARRANTY Unless otherwise specified, I give you a one-year repair guarantee. Thanks, - William E. Miller, AS-EET

Before you power it back up after the repair, you should double-check the wiring of the switches against the "mini-manual".

It's located behind the grille or below the circuit board.

If you don't find yours, you can download it here.

My 3 1/2 yr old GE profile spacemaker microwave stopped heating.

Some components can be replaced from the front, but not the high voltage parts including the magnetron.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here. They make it easier to remove from the wall.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

If it's within the magnetron portion of the warranty (usually 5-9 years) but out of the original full warranty (usually 1 year), then your manufacturer will cover the part cost, but not the cost to visit you or the labor charge to do the work.

Some manufacturers will send you the magnetron to do it yourself. If nothing else, you can save about $75 by taking it to the shop yourself.

GE Customer Service is here if you want to request a magnetron.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Possessed Microwave

How old is it , if the control panel its going crazy .could'be somethig very simple , tell me the pad panel its plastic or glass, if its plastic its the kind that we can call membrane. this part can be contaminated an send wrong pulses to the controler . if not is the controler itself. unpluged the microwave and open it and check if youcan see dirty .grease bugs, etc. unplug the mebrane clean the contacs with alchohol and q-tips . let me know if works , is no worth it to replace parts on it because the membrane or the cotroler can cost 30 to 90 plus shipping

GE Spacemaker XL1800 (JVM1860WD 002) Stoped Working.

The control panel has built-in surge protection, and the high voltage probably tripped that. It will have to be repaired, which we do nationwide for only $39.95 postpaid. By rights, I would say the electrician should be the one to see to the repairs, including removing the control panel assembly to send in for repair. We have *critical* safety & disassembly info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded view diagrams by entering your full model number (without the suffix) here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383 Please let us know if you have any other questions.
