File format not supported

I have a Phillips SA6045 GOGEAR mp3 player. I used the converter program that came with the disk to convert video but when it completes the transfer to the player I get the message file format not supported when I try to view the video. Any suggestions?

I can't convert my videos to the format that the Philips GoGear Vibe can support.

Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine thetype of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI andWMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is anincompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to aformat that your MP3 player uses. I can't play videos in my phillips go gear vibe sa2vbe04.

Your player can play video file if its format is suitable. If you install the Philips songbird software you can convert your files with it and the player will play them after files transferred.

The software is downloadable via this link:

When i put video in my philips go gear of the format that it supported then it shows on screen that file not supported.i m sick off it help me

The Phillips 6045 will play WAV files. You can use a program called Any video converter. Click on the link. This will allow you to convert most any video to any supported video. Plus you can adjust the conversion screen size and bit rate to fit your player. It may take some trail and error but it has the ability to make a custom video for your player.

Hello experts! How do I convert movies from WMV to the format supported by a Phillips Gogear vibe Mp3 player(smv), without downloading any foreign software? What can Rhapsody do, if anything?

You can't. You need to install a program that can convert video files to another format to another that suits your MP3 player.
There are commercial programs as well as freeware programs on the Internet.
I suggest you Google search for these programs.

Philips GoGear SA6045 need video support

All support for SA6045:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ctn=SA6045/02&slg=en&scy=GB

Media converter software should be used to make the video files
appropriate before transferring them to the player.
The Media Converter Software zip file is under this link:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/s/sa6045_02/sa6045_02_mcs_eng.zip

Note:
First check the format of the video files that can be converted in the media software. Remember that not all videos can be
transferred, having copy rights sometimes.

Why do i have to pay for support when i bought the product

Sounds like Philips reached an agreement with Arcsoft. Since the video conversion software is Arcsoft's, Philips does not support it. The last time I remember, Arcsoft charged for most tech support. Welcome to corporate America.

Download the upgraded version of the Philips (Arcsoft) Media Converter from www.usasupport.philips.com. If the upgraded version still does not recognize certain file types, download a free program called Riva FLV Encoder - it is supposed to be a program that converts video formats to FLV format, but it has the neat feature of being able to do the opposite. Any video file that the Philips does not recognize can be converted to AVI format using Riva. Make sure the audio feature is enabled in Riva or you will get picture and no sound. Once it is converted to an AVI, the Philips Media Converter will see it, and you can either convert the file to a folder, or you can transfer it directly to the GoGear. Note: the Philips Media Converter will not properly convert video files that are longer than 15 minutes long - in order to transfer an entire movie, you will have to use video editing software to break the long file into 15-minute chunks. You will then have to convert the chunks using the Philips Media Converter.

Problems putting ANY videos on Philips GoGear SA6045

Install and run the Media Convertor software from the product CD and follow the on-screen prompts. This will convert the video file to a .WMV file of the correct resolution for the player, and allow you to transfer the video to the player.

If this doesn't work, check that the original video format is supported by the convertor software.
