Motorguide Brute Model 756

Motorguide "Brute" mODEL 756. When the motor hits bottom or rock, the pointer gear gets out of time/direction. is there a spring or something that helps hold the pointer gear in place to prevent the gear from jumping out of time?

First you need to check to see if power is getting to the motor. If power is not getting to the motor, then check the battery. If you are getting power to the motor, then troubleshoot starting with checking to see if power is getting to the foot pedal. From there check the switches, and make sure they all have power. If they do, then most likely it is the brushes which could be worn on the powerhead itself.

Ihave a motorguide brute hyper 67 trolling motor can't get the 24 volts to work motor runs on 12 and 24 volts and all five speeds but don't have the thrust of 24 volts

This is most often caused by a faulty 24 Volt, section, (usually damaged output semiconductors, or the drive?) in the speed controller, fault, the only "Fix" is replacement. Simply obtain the entire speed controller and replace it "En Bloc" as it were. You will need to also obtain a service manual so you can disassemble it and obtain the parts numbers for the replacement parts.Otherwise take it to a professional and ask for a "Quote" as to prospective costings and go from there.

I have a motorguide trolling motor and the front

With the top off take the six screws out and lift the cable and gear out. Next put your foot pedal at mid position. Then make sure the motor is pointed forward and reinstall the slider gear and the six screws. Last put the top on and make sure the arrow indicator is pointing forward and thats it.
