BLUE DOUBLE VISION

My samsung 47 rear projection tv started having a flickering blue double vision on any words that appear on screen and when there are no words it looks like lines accross the screen and as the lines go up they curve up at the ends and it kinda looks the same toward the bottom. any ideas and where to get the parts and how much. I would like to do it myself.

It sounds like you may have a loose solder connection either in the convergence circuit or the pincushion correction circuit. If you can't visually locate it, you may need a service manual and test equipment to track it down. I doubt that changing parts will be the cure if it is an intermittent problem.

Phillips 60" projection TV Double vision

This is a convergence problem and is either bad connections at the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder, you can repair this yourself. Let me know if you wish to repair this and I can provide you with additional details.

Double Vision

Unfortunately, the complete convergence amp board is no longer available from Samsung. But the board is available from ptscorp.com. Go to the website, get the telephone number, ask them what convergence Amp board you need and if they have it. If you know how to solder and unsolder, you can simply change the convergence amp IC's, on the main convergence board. The IC number if the IC's is STK392-040 Good Luck.
