My TV doesn't have the ability to do progressive. I could see my menus and get picture and sound. Once I switched to progressive mode I lost my picture but still have sound. Since I can't see the menus anymore I have no way of turning the progressive mode off. I've tried unplugging the machine. There appears to be no button on the machine or remote that allows you to turn the progressive mode off. I need help. :(
I am stuck in Progressive Mode, I did all the options to solve this problem and these did not work for me. I did more than five minutes holding pause, I did turn off enter 369 turn on and I did not solve this problem. What else can I do? I am going to the place I did buy this product looking for help. If somebody have another soluction, please let me know. Thanks I am stuck in Progressive Mode, I did all the options to solve this problem and these did not work for me. I'm out of progressive mode but stuck in B/W. I've switched back and forth from RCA cable to S-Vid cable with no luck.I'm out of progressive mode but stuck in B/W. I've switched back and forth from RCA cable to S-Vid cable with no luck.

I solved the Progressive Mode problem.

First, I put a movie and I play it.
As I said before, I tried several times using the holding pause for 5 seconds. Then, on the Video Out, I switch the yellow and the white connections and I get lines on the tv. Then, I switch the white and the yellow to its correct position. I stopped the movie, I did hold the pause and in 5 seconds the Progressive light turn off. I feel happynes know. Thanks to God.
Pressing and holding the PAUSE button on the front of the DVD player for 5 seconds. (this is the one that worked for me) Hurray!
pressing the PROGRESSIVE button on the front of the DVD player or P.SCAN button on the remote control to disable the progressive signal.
power off the DVD player and press 369 using the number buttons on the remote control, then power back on the DVD player.
moving the VIDEO OUT switch on the back of the DVD player to the INTERLACED position.

Press the System Menu while the recorder is in stop mode.
Select "Setup" and press enter.
Select "Easy Setup" and press enter.
Select "Start" and pre Enter.
Follow the instructions. OK.
If your TV has progressive scan capability, you may be able to view the on-screen setup menu via the recorder - select 'SETUP' press 'ENTER' on your DVD recorder's remote to bring up the menu - with the remote arrow buttons, scroll down to select 'VIDEO' then 'PROGRESSIVE' - highlight it then set it to OFF (you cannot do this with a TV that does not support progressive scan from this unit). Once done, exit the setup menu and it should work fine with all the other settings. If your TV doesn't have progressive scan, connect the DVD recorder to one which does and turn its progressive output off there. I assume you still have the user manual for your recorder (if not, you can download it online for free as an Adobe document - .pdf. Page 73 details the setup steps for this model). I hope this tip helps somewhat.
Apparently your TV doesn't support the progressive mode (480p).
You should be able to turn it off by pressing the pause button on the recorder for about 5 seconds, untill it turns off I guess.
Hope it works
