No Power up??

My p46720ba tv has gone out....It will not power up....When the power is pressed it sounds like it always has with a lil sound and the light on the power button just blinks one time.....It will not power up at all??? Please help!!! Greg

You could have a bad high voltage transformer AKA a flyback. This set could have also one of a dozen or so problems. If you have any electronic repair experience, first get a service manual and start from there. If you do not Please play it safe as there are no user replaceable parts insiide this set As this TV set is not the place to be experiementing around the inside of. Call in a tech. My set does not have any blinking lights at all but it does make a slight low cricket sounding noise from back of set every time the power button is pressed

That clicking sound you hear is your TV's power supply not getting enough current to turn on the screen. Could be as simple as a blown capacitor on the power supply board unit. Many TV repair shops just replace the whole unit, I am almost sure that is your problem with you TV as I've had the same problem with several TV's before. That clicking sound always points to a power supply gone bad.

Try resoldering all the solder terminals to its main syscon IC. This is a loose solder problem.

I have fixed a few tv's that were flat screens and the problem is almost always a capasitor. They use the cheepest from china, look for a bulge on one on the power side although they are not always noticable.

Your power supply board is dead, you know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors.These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable,and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
