Double oven / convection not working

We have a stainless steel bosch double oven with convection and bake functions on the top and bake only on the bottom. The covection function on the top oven is not working. The fan blows and the bake function works. Any ideas what might be wrong?

I had the exact same thing happen. Oven is only 3 years old and rarely used. One day the heat light stayed on even with the oven knobs all set to off. Found FixYa after a Google search and found this post. I took off the back plate and sure enough, the heating element looks it had a full meltdown. Found a replacement element online for $48. hopefully this fixes the problem and I won't need to keep replacing it every 3 years. I've always had great luck with Bosch products, power tools and appliances. This problem shouldn't be happening since the oven has had such little use. I thought I was buying a higher-end appliance:( Mike Bosch (yep that's really my last name. It figures the oven breaks down when I had 3 pans of lasagna that were supposed to be cooked by the time we got home from church. I was so upset about the oven not working I said I was going to change my last name:)

My double convection oven works but the heat light is still on even though every knob is turned to off. The last time I used the oven, I noticed that the control panel (where the knobs are) stay warm. I don't know if replacing the convection element will fix the problem. Another issue I noticed that too, every time I use the oven, my eyes are burning from the heat generate from the oven. I don't know if that even normal?

It is likely that the convection element is burned out and needs to be replaced. If all other functions are working then this is the place to start. Teh back panel inside of the oven can be removed by removing the 4 visible philips screws on it. The element should look smooth and round, if not then it needs to be replaced. Be sure to turn power off to the oven before replacing it. Remove the screws that fasten the element to the back wall and gently pull the element away from the wall an inch or so. the wires will be exposed and can be unclipped from the element do not let them fall inside of the back of the oven or you will have to remove the oven from the wall to get at the back panel. Install the new element in the reverse procedure. If the element looks good then it will have to be tested with a multimeter to verify that it is still good before proceeding to check the selector switch for burn marks.

Hi,

Do you see any Error Message on the Display?

If not, then it should not be a Concern. More often this could be Thermal Fuse on the Back of the Unit ( On Most Models ) will stop the Broil and Bake from Turning ON. You would just start a bake cycle and the temperature will sit at 100 and something degrees and never raise.appliance.

Let me know, once you check the same.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

The good sign is that the motor works fine as do heaters. If the operator interface acknowledges feature selection by beeping or what have you, we can safely say the problem lies with the control board or relay.
