Twice now my camera has mysteriously deleted half of the pictures before I can download them. Tonight I took pics (20-30), viewed them and previously taken ones from Th'giving on the camera and put the camera down on the couch. About an hour later I went to download them via USB and half of the total pics on the SD card were just gone! (about 40 pics) ... this is the second time its happened and now I am really annoyed! NEW camera (3 weeks old), new 1GB SD card ... great pics of my kids - GONE!
Would having extra fully charged batteries in camera case be a problem? SD card is "Silicon Power" brand - instructions tell me "stored data may be lost due to static electricity/static noise" ???

You shot videos they are not pictures you have to play them back
The pictures will download on your computer in jepeg file
videos are mp3 or files for videos
First take the memory card out of the camera. Pictures that have been deleted are probably still there, but will be overwritten if you take any more pictures on top of them.
Your camera is not able to undelete pictures, but there are programs for doing this on a computer. You can put the memory card into a card reader attached to a computer, and use an undelete program to recover the deleted files. Undelete programs are available for free download from the internet, try the one at THIS LINK
If the pictures are very important to you, you might want to seek help from an experienced person.
how are you actually downloading to PC - if you are putting the card into the PC and copying that way - make sure you have all the sub directories selected - cameras do create multiple sub-directories
it may also be able t recovery the files OFF the memory card, even after deleting and erasing
have a look at this software "digital image recovery" its free software http://www.z-a-recovery.com/
its a matter of resolution ...just download them on the computer ..and modify them on a picture manager like photoscape... actually just make them a little smaller or change the resolution on the computer .. what happen is that the picture is somehow larger that the machines you tried supports ..
It can only nuber from 1 to whatever or next number to whatever you already have. Each time you transfer the pics to ypur PC, it delets the ones that have been sent, so it is left with none and hence the name of the next pic would be one.
Only solution is if you can configure to name the pics based on date. That way, you will have different names each day. I am sure you have this provision in your camera.
Try pressing the shutter button half way to let it focus before you shoot. You also may want to make sure the camera is in auto mode and not set to any particular setting.
Sounds as if you deleted the pics after you downloaded them the 1st time.Try taking the memory card out of your camera then placing it back in the camera again. Then try to download your pictures. If this does not work then you must have deleted them when you downloaded them last week.
