How do I splice Phillips HTS6500/37 sono speakers

My Phillips HTS6500/37 home theater system stopped working last week. It is past the warranty period by at least 2 years. I purchased a new system but would like to use the Phillips sono speakers on another stereo, both are 8 ohm speakers, but the CS6500E speakers have a custom 6 wire connector. Green, yellow, orange, red, brown and black wires. How do I connect the wires together to end up with 2 wires, like normal sound systems?

SOURCE: jayco camper has 6-plug connector------car has

Hello,

It would be easiest, and best, if you were to upgrade the cars' trailer connector. The 4 way just supplies brake, parking, turnsignal, and a ground. The colors are the same on the 6 way, but 2 lines are added, usually for a electric brake controller and aux. circuit. Be careful about using the battery line (Red) on the 6 way connector unless you are also upgrading the white wire to a heavier gauge (at least the same size as red).

Green - Stop and Right Turn Signal (4/5/6/7 way)
Yellow - Stop and Left Turn Signal (4/5/6/7 way)
Brown - Running Lights (tail, side, tag) (4/5/6/7 way)
White - Ground / Negative (4/5/6/7)
Blue - Electric Brakes (5/6/7 way)
Red - Aux. charge line for emergency break away, battery charger, etc. (7 way)
Purple - Aux. backup lights / other purpose (7 way)

What are you playing in it? If you are playing a cd, the system will default to playing the sound only in stereo. You can manually select a surround mode if this is the case.

Open sonos play 5

Okay, so I literally just took mine apart, a screw came out that was holding the subwoofer in place and it was causing horrible distortion and vibration.

First off there are a bunch of screws you need to remove, all phillips heads thank god. The front grill just needs a little bit of tender pulling, start at the seams on the sides and pry it out, its only held in there by some velcro material on the front and how tight the sides slide into the rest of the unit, so it shouldnt be too hard to remove. Once it's off you will see all of the screws that need to be pulled out, they are all the same length and there should be 6 of them.

After that you will need to flip the Play 5 upside down and pull off the rubber bottom plate, its held on with a tacky adhesive but its pretty easy to pull off. You will see that there are now a bunch more screws to undo at this point, including 2 stickers over two of the screws saying if you remove or break you void the warranty (Sonos warranty is 1 year, so if it's beyond that, go for it). You pull off those screws as well, pretty sure there are 6 of one size and 2 of a skinnier size. This will easily remove the bottom plate.

From there you can now access a few more screws that will then allow you into the system. I hope that this can help you fix it or you got brave and tried it yourself at this point.

Rtd315w wont do any thing,i plug it in and the blue lite comes on push power or open lite goes off and nothing works no display and sometimes a taping sound from speaker/fuse seems ok

If its under the 1 year warranty call 1800 252 6123 and they will do it no charge with any type proof of purchase, if over the 1 year they charge 45.00 maximum! and will repair it or replace it if it cant be fixed, then ship it back with a 1 year warranty, takes 4 weeks aproximately

How do you connect a sonos connect to a wired sound system

Basically it will act like a CD or TAPE input. You can either use RCA or Optical (i believe) and just plug it into an existing input slot. The key is that for Sonos you will need to have a Sonos Bridge or an existing Sonos Player.

I have a Phillips HTS HTIB and would like to know if I can add to the speaker wire length by splicing?

Any splicing to a cable will degrade the signal quality and will compromise the integrity of the cable itself.

As a repair maybe for a short-term fix, but I wouldn't recommend cutting up a good system.

Philips Home Theater Speaker Wire (can it be cut?)

Sure you can, Joel.

Put the speakers wherever they will go, and cut the wire from the speaker to whatever length you need to reach your wall terminals. Leave some slack so you can move the speakers if needed. Strip off whatever length of insulation you need to make the terminal connection. Note that the speaker wire will have some kind of polarity marking. There will be a colored stripe or other mark on the insulation, or the conductors themselves may be different colors (usually one wire is copper, and the other tinned so it's silver colored). It doesn't matter which you use for positive as long as you're consistent and use the same one for each speaker.

At the other end where the prewiring comes out for your home-theater system, splice the connector ends you cut off onto the installed wires, following the same polarity. I recommend using an appropriate size insulated **** splice to make the connection. The crimper and splices can be found at auto parts stores, Radio Shack or most hardware stores. It's quick, reliable and makes sure there are no bare wires to short out.

Plug the speakers into the system and you should be good to go. Whip up some popcorn and enjoy the show!

Panasonic Dvd Home Sound system SC-PT950 code f61

The F61 is the coded "protect mode" indication. The internal amp chip has failed. It sounds like this system should still be under warranty. Return it for warranty service. The amp chip will be replaced.

Sorry about hte delayed response. I was away in business for a few days.
