I have used my unit one year and this year when I turn it on the next morning there is the same ammount of water in the resivoir as there was yesterday. I figure its broke and I need to jiust buy another one. I am very disappointed with the unit as I am on disability for a lung condition. I cannot afford to buy another unit every year. Next time I will make sure I don't buy a Robitussin 1 gal.

Needs salt. Add about 1 tsp. BTW, what is the model number?

Can you give Motrin and robitussin together?

Your best bet is to ask your physician or pharmacist. If Robitussin contains the same active ingredient as Motrin, the answer is most likely NO, because it will be too easy to overdose. Otherwise, I don't know if there will be any interaction between the two drugs. Sometimes a combination will cause problems for certain individuals but not others. Again, ask a professional.

Cant find filter

Maybe this picture can tell you the location of fuel filter ,hope help.

Model RCM-832. On/off switch works, blows air but no moisture seems to come out. I left it on for at least one day and the water level in the tank remained the same.

First check humid-stat setting make sure that the room is not above setting. Second check that float(water level) switch is being made. Hope that helps

Model 800 Aprilaire steam humidifire I have

Follow manufacturer instalation instructions. Why risk your equipment and you family's health to save a few bucks and a lil trouble on the proper parts. Your family is worth it, now go do the right thing. :)

It blows air, but no moisture comes out or is used from cannister. where could the problem be?

You need to add salt. I'm not sure if table salt or some other salt is best, but it requires that addition to create noticeable mist. I use probably 1 tsp.

Maybe you can answer my question. What is the model number? I've been searching for and have found replacement filters, but I'm not sure which ones to buy. Please let me know at [email protected]

It's easy to find a replacement if you know what the model number is of the humidifier. If you do, let me know.

Aprilaire 600 Humidifier

I had this problem several years ago. In order for the water to flow, the outside temperature sending unit must indicate to the controller that it is less than 60F. If not, the unit will not operate outside of test mode. Check the temp outside where your sending unit is (could the sun be heating that side of the house?) and ensure that the circuit to the sending unit is working. I had a bad wire splice inside a wire nut stopping the circuit. Took me a long while to figure it out.

If the outside temp and your sending unit circuit is ok, I wish you luck on your troubleshooting.

Noisy ultrasonic humidifire

The grey circle (diaphram) needs replacing. Try Maplin electronics.

Doesn't run

When a humidifier doesn't run, it generally means it isn't receiving electrical power or the controls have automatically shut it off. 1) Be sure it's plugged in to an outlet that works and that it's turned on. Check the electrical receptacle for power, using a working lamp, appliance, or voltage tester. 2) If the receptacle seems to be dead, check the circuit breaker or fuse that serves the humidifier's circuit. 3) Check the setting on the humidistat. If it's set lower than the room's relative humidity, the humidifier won't go on; in fact, it may take several hours for the humdistat to respond to the room's changing humidity. 4) Be sure the humidifier's reservoir is full of water. 5) Unplug the humidifier unit. 6) Check the power cord. If necessary, repair the cord. 7) Remove the humidifier's cover panel. 8) Remove the humidistat and check it (as shown below). Replace it if necessary. 9) If it still doesn't work, call an appliance repairperson, take the unit into an appliance repair shop, or replace the unit. To check the humidistat, you?ll need a volt-ohm meter. A humidifier?s fan vaporizes the water in the reservoir and blows the water vapor into the house or room. If you need to check the fan, unplug the humidifier, remove the control panel, and lift the lid. Tighten the fan hub with pliers if it is loose; this should take care of rattles. If the fan doesn?t spin easily when you try to move the blades by hand or if it is still noisy, lubricate the motor bearings with oil. To establish whether power is reaching the humidistat when you know there are no problems with the plug or switches, unplug the humidifier, remove the control panel, and lift the lid. Test it with a volt-ohm meter set to the RX1 scale (or to K[omega symbol] or [omega symbol] resistance on a digital meter). Clip the meter to the humidistat terminals. The meter should jump if you turn the humidistat from high to low. If it doesn?t, you?ll need to replace the humidistat or return it to the manufacturer.
