The hood has lost power and I am trying to verify that it is not a problem with the fuse. I was told that to locate the fuse, I need to take the duct outer panel off. I unscrewed the top screws, thinking I could easily take the cover off. However, that was not the case. Next, I tried removing the bottom portion of the hood, thinking that the cover would slide down, but this did not work. So, I am thinking I may need to take the motor off to find what I am looking for, but this seems ridiculous. Does anyone have a recommendation to be able to find the fuse on this hood?
Unfortunately on these island hung types you have to drop top duct slightly and remove the WHOLE canopy (yes I know it's huge) and then remove the duct completely to expose the box housing the pc board. The only other way is to remove all the panels from the bottom and remove canopy to bottom, and then slide ducts down untill box is exposed. In any event this is not an easy job, and I wouyld advise expertise. Good Luck! Oshie

I have repaired many Gaggenau extractors before. On this model you were correct to remove two top screws from duct. The top and lower duct slide inside each other, and should be removed as 1 unit, by lifting the lower duct UP and then away from the wall. Sometimes there are two further screws holding the bottom duct to the canopy. Remove the filters and check for screws from inside canopy. Once ducts are removed you will see the a box, metal or plastic. Remove lid and you will see the pc board. There is a 10A fuse on there. Some models do not have fuses, and the whole board should be replaced! Good luck! C.

I had the same problem with a ZMI-M90S. I took off the filters and the metal pieces under the filters. There were 2 plastic cases against the wall. I took the lid off the bottom one, but didn't see anything that looked like a fuse. I didn't check the top one. Any ideas?
