Hi my hoover nextra HNL 6166 washing machine won't spin

It doesn't spin and the drum won't turn during washing. I was hoping it would be a quick fix like a replacement belt

Thankyou I ordered some replacement brushes and my husband fitted them today (25/4/12) and my washing machine is now running better like new

SOURCE: How do you remove the filter for a Hoover washing

I included a link on Youtube to my Nextra where I show how I clean the filter (watch it from 08:55 onwords). Just remove the kick strip and unscrew (philips screwdriver needed) the little screw on the filter itself, then turn it anti-clockwise but while you're doing this make sure you insert the kick strip underneath to gather the residual water. Repeat this operation 3 o 4 times until the sump is totally empty, make sure you don't let the kick strip fill up too much otherwise you'll be spilling water all over the place, so just turn the filter clockwise everytime you want to stop the trickle of water. It's not too complicated and it won't be too messy if you follow these instructions carefully. Good luck ;-)

Hi the belt on our hoover hnl 6166 nextra will not stay on. The motor and the drum seem to be out of alignment and there are no broken screws or bolts or wobbles. Any ideas please? Thanks Robert.

I would suggest that the drum is out of alignment because the main bearings have failed, or the drum shaft has collapsed due nto corrosion.
Spin the drum by hand, and listen for any noise, there should not be any, and see if the drum rotates centrally in relation to the outer drum

My hoover washing machine wont spin and is full of water. model number is hnl 9146-z

It's a safety feature that doesn't allow the machine to spin when there's still water in the tub. The drain pump has probably failed and you would need to replace it (there are some good places online where you can buy appliances spare parts). Try to set your machine on a 'Drain' cycle and see if the pump works.

Hoover hnl 6166 not spinning

have you tried cleaning the filter at the bottom. remove the front plateat the bottom and there is a small round plate at the left. this has a screw in it. when you have removed this you give it a twist. a bucketload of water and gunk will come out. i found about 60p in 5's but when it was all removed it started to work again
