My dishwasher won't drain, if I put it on rinse, it doesn't fill, assume this is because water is already at level, can't find instruction manual so not sure where the filters are to check them. please help

Their is 2 screens towards the back right that are plugged up. . You can take out 2 screws out and clean them up. Or the fill level adjustment in the front left isn't working right. It also can be fixed with 2 screws and cleaned.
Normally if you started the rinse cycle with water already in the base of the dishwasher it will immediately go into circulating the water through the wash arms. Do you hear the wash arms running when the washer is stuck at 11mins? Also when the washer is stuck at 73 mins are the wash arms running all the time or do you hear the pump operate at some stage? If you have the dishwasher manual available make sure the water pressure setting is at HI or LO depending on your rated mains water pressure.
If the machine loads ups with water and does not stop then the water level sensor is fautly . But if the inlet valve stops on fill up but there is no spin of the motor or thereafter there is no spin/rinse or drain then the program controller / drain valve/pump must be checked.
The U1 code means:-
Dishwasher attempted to fill to correct level but failed. = Water tap not turned on. Turn the water tap on. Too much foam. Rinse aid setting too high or has been spilled. = Turn the rinse aid dial to a lower setting or wipe the spill. Incorrect detergent. Ensure that you use a detergent that is intended for a domestic automatic dishwasher. Egg yolk. Place an extra tablespoon of detergent in the dishwasher door for pre-rinsing. Too much detergent. Use the recommended quantity of detergent
Wash pump faulty. Call your Fisher & Paykel Dealer or Authorised Service Centre. Dishwasher not draining. = Drain hose bent or kinked. Straighten drain hose so water can flow through. Strainer blocked. Empty out the strainer and ensure the filter plate is clear of food particles..
Make sure drain hose from dishwasher is higher than water inlet if not it will do just like a washing machine if the drain hose is lower than water level it will empty while filling.
I did the same thing with my Maytag dishwasher, several times actually, before realizing I was putting blue dish soap in the rinse aid compartment which then wouldn't empty. Then my Maytag started making ominous noises during the rinse cycle (appliance guy said it was "cavitation" noise).
Appliance guy wanted to replace the whole detergent/rinse aid compartment but since he told me the noise was probably caused by the dish soap stuck in the rinse aid compartment, I decided to try to get rid of it first. Here is the method that worked for me; it took most of a day but saved me parts & labor:
1. Get some white vinegar--I used nearly a quart. 2. Fill the rinse aid compartment to brim with the vinegar (overfill) but don't put cap on 3. Raise the dishwasher door slowly until the vinegar drains into the lower part of the chamber (at least this is how my Maytag worked) 4. Agitate the contents as best you can by rapidly shaking the dishwasher door up & down. 5. I also used a small plastic medicine dropper jammed into small openings on each side of the rinse aid compartment to agitate the vinegar by squeezing air into them. 6. Drain the compartment by closing the dishwasher door (move it to full vertical)--vinegar will drain into the bottom of the dishwasher. 7. Repeat above steps a couple times, then fill again w/vinegar, put the cap on and let it stand for awhile. Then drain and repeat the whole routine several times. 8. Blue-colored vinegar will come out which is a good sign (or whatever color your dish soap was). 9. After awhile, I started pouring generous amts of very hot tap water thru the rinse aid compartment, alternating with white vinegar. (No reason you can't use hot vinegar also.) 10. Eventually, all the blue stuff came out & the see-thru levels of the rinse aid compartment were completely clear/empty. 11. Run the dishwasher (I decided to not put any rinse aid in). I got some overfoaming (from the washed out soap) the first time I ran it which I probably could have remedied by adding more vinegar & possibly salt, but the noises were gone! I just ran the cleaned out dishwasher a 2nd time & it was back to its quiet self with no overfoaming.
Takes some patience but hey, beats a big repair bill!!
I first checked the water valve in the dishwasher. It was working properly. The overflow or water level sensor had become stuck in the 'high level' position, thus telling the washer that it was already full of water. I corrected that and it began working properly. As for water in the bottom of the dishwasher that didn't seem to be draining completely - I turned the timer to a point in the cycle where it would drain, making sure I turned the washer off before it cycled back to the 'fill or rinse' cycle. I think the water had accumulated because of the timing of the cycles getting out of sync with the water level in the washer.
thanks I have exactly the same problem. I will try cleaning out the pipe as you said
