Question about Sony DAV-DZ100 System

Sony dav-dz100 When unit is turned on it displays the message "unplug protect" and will not do anything else.

    If i turn up to 35 it displays a message saying protect & subwoofer, then shuts itself down

That means you have a bad speaker, speaker wire, or a componet in the output stage of the amp blew out. First thing to try is to disconnect all the speaker, Turn on the unit. If it still reads the same, you have a problem with the amp. these are solid state units and have no user replacable parts inside of them.. You will need to have it serviced or get a new unit, as to have these repaired or even estimated these days is very costly. Good Luck Please dont forget to rate this thread.

Sony dav dz100 won't eject dvd
Press standby button to turn on the set, select dvd function then press and hold STOP and EJECT button for five seconds or more to UNLOCK cd slot. You will see UNLOCK in display.

hehehe, its funny problem. let me try to help you.
1- Press Power to turn the set ON.
2- select DVD function.
3- press STOP and EJECT buttons for Five (5) Seconds.
4- the message UNLOCKED will display.

Need help
I think, your Home theater gives you error message " protect unplug", means home theater has problem in Amplifier section and will not be power up to function.
You should check Amp section aspacialy Amp Output stage.

Protect
The protect message indicates that a problem was found in the output stage of the amplifier. Unless this gets repaired, nothing will work. As a verification that the speakers or the wires are not the problem, unplug all of the speakers and try again. If protect still is displayed, the problem is inside the unit.

PROTECT UNPLUG
This is a common problem with sony it means unplug me or i will explode, it is a protection of the heat sync and usually means that a cooling fan has shorted out. If under gurentee return to Sony for repair if not under guranebntee as is generally the case check on the net for a replacement fan motor - as far as i know sony were sourcing thier fanns from Sunon there is a German based headquarters - just google sunon europe
