Battery needs to be replaced. All rechargeable batteries have limited recharge cycles. NiCad's are usually used in these and also develop "memory' which keeps them from recharging fully.
Contact Oreck or reputable dealer for replacement.

Where do I charge the cord free electric broom I have it plugged in to the back of the broom and a green light came on is that the right place to charge one

That is the right place and the charge light is on. The thing that you dont know is how old are the batteries that are in it. The light shows that there is current going into the unit. It does not show if the batteries are taking a charge and holding it. If the batteries are old it can take days to wake them up. Sometimes they dont ever recover and need to be replaced.

2013 Oreck Vacuum . How can I check to see if it is stopped up?

If it scatters the dirt then it's definitely clogged up at the nozzle just behind the roller brush. Turn the sweeper upside down and stand it on the handle. Then look under the roller brush. I have two Oreck's in my house. You can take a screwdriver to loosen the clog and dump out the dirt. Don't try to pick up pine needles as these are sticky and will quickly clog up any vacuum sweeper.

When and how long do you charge the battery in the Oreck AV 701B Electric Broom?

hello. here is a copy of your broom's manual http://www.oreck.com/includes/customer-service/owners-guides/pdfs/40178-01-ElectrikBroom-Manual.pdf

go to page 5 to read about charging. The first initial charge must be for 10-12 hours, after that 8-10 hours. With a full charge the broom will operate for 15-20 minutes. Joe

Where can I find the charger for the Oreck ElectrikBroom AV-701B. It's part no. 40181-01?

You might be surprised. Ebay doesn't have any listed. Oreck is a very private company and they don't sell unlimited stock to anyone, even their distributors. If you find one on Ebay, it will be an aftermarket unit that MIGHT fit.

Not picking up dirt.

There is a Clog in the machine...
Somewhere between the motor and the bag.
When you use the machine, the dirt picked up by the roller has no place to go but backwards.
You will need to disassemble it and look for the clog.

How to clean the dirt cup

How do you clean the "bagless dirt cup" for my Oreck Cordfree Electrik Broom? I do not have an instruction manual since it was given to me.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
The best way to clean a dirt cup is to wash it with soap and water and dry it thoroughly so that there is not water or moisture, do NOT however get the filter wet because it will lose filtration and the best way to clean the filter is to brush off the dirt, wipe off the dirt on the filter, or replace the filter id dust and dirt are getting through, other wise wash the cup only with soap and water. Also contact your local vac dealer or Oreck Store in your area or the Oreck factory @ the number listed below t get a new owner’s manual. So feel free to contact your local vac dealer. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Won't charge

The battery from Lowes was the perfect solution for my Oreck AV-701B vacuum. In this vacuum, however, the wires are soldered to the battery leading to a plug which powers the vacuum. You will have to desolder the old battery and solder the new one. This is easy soldering and any friend with a soldering iron could do it for you in two minutes. The improved (restored) power is amazing.
