I have a sony kp-61hs10 and will not turn on,,,,,,,,, it is blinking once a second, every second with no delay,,,, the sony blink codes says its "no reply from jungle IC301 (data bus is busy, shorted to ground or high yield) IK video path is defective"...... What does this mean and can I fix it, or is it going to cost me a ton of money????? I am very handy and can fix anything............ Please let me know if this is worth fixing, or having someone come out or should I trash the unit and replace it.....Thanks Tom

Re: WONT TURN ON
If you know how to trouble shoot solid state electronics and know how the curcuits work, then Im sure you can handle this repair. But my friend a tv set is not a place for a handy man to be experimenting around inside of, as there is alot of high voltage inside this set even when its turned off! Its best if you do not know all of the safty issues to seek out a pro to assist you in this repair. It could be a bad solder connection, or a bad filter capacitor that supplys the B+ to the video chip. Without looking at a schematic and tracing the circuit, its all a guess. There are no real user replacable parts inside this set. Good Luck

Can you unplug the TV for about 15 seconds, and then plug back in and watch the stand-by light. Tell me how many time the stand-by light blinks in regular intervals. If it doesn't blink at all, you need to change a fuse on the g-board. Once this is done run back through the stand-by blink light process, and more troubleshooting can be done if problem isn't already solved. If the stand-by light just keeps blinking with a count over ten just tell me, and I'll look for other possibilities.
Five blinks is a video abnormality detection and I am all too familiar with this repair... One or more of the crt's in this unit has a bad set or failing guns in it... You can have a local tech bring out a crt tester and rejuvenate the tube for a temporary stay but it will eventually fail for good and in a short period of time it will be one or the other - - VERY expensive to repair or off to the dump...

Just take the back off and follow the power cord into the set. The main fuse will be within inches of where the cord attaches. That wont do you much good though. The fuse probably isn't blown and if it is the replacement will most likely blow right away. If the set is dead the LED should blink a certain number of times after you try to turn it on. The number will tell a tech what area has a problem.
My Sony HiScan 61" intemittent black screen for couple of seconds. I opened the back and look at what is happening. All three blue, green and red projection lights go off for a second or two frequently.
FIVE Blinks---AKB circuit (AKB), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about
30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with
the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C
board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. Also unit be in IK blanking,
try turning up screen slightly.
