Tv comes on and off all on its own
If the model here listed is correct it may be the actual power switch--it like all the front controls is a tiny micro switch--only supposed to work when pressed but can and does fail in this way--
How to prove/disprove this?
Someone needs to remove the front keyboard and unsolder that 2 pin switch---remote will with the board back still turn set on.
If it works that way either just use the remote or search for the keyboard and replace if can find one.
Only other issue possible is the microprocessor in the set could be bad and we do not want that-----both the front buttons on set and the remote go to the same place inside the set but the keyboard has priority over the remote.
If power button bad, button on the remote will not stop or correct this.

SOURCE: Lost power
The symptom you have needs to be looked at by a qualified technician for proper diagnosis. There are 9 LED`s ( 8 green, 1 red) in the power supply that light up under normal condition. These LED`s are used to help pinpoint the area of trouble. For example, when power is applied all LED`s but one lights up. The unlit LED may indicate the +27 volt source is bad. That will alert the technician to check components related to the +27v line. Since there are 8 green LED`s and 1 red, each having multiple suspects leads us to Mr Spock`s comment to captian Kirk." there are endless possibilities"

I don't know what model you have but, mine is a 50v715 and it did the same thing. It turned out it was the lamp. So you might just try changing the lamp. Hope this is helpful.
SOURCE: power not coming back on
In this cases the standby light seems to just blink and not to power on as it indicates a fault relevant to the failure of the drivers. Since there is a possible short or leak in the circuit the output driver section can take in huge current to trip the SMPS or from advice from the micro processor. Remove the power plugs and make sure that high voltage sections are discharged of the potential stored in capacitors. Look for visible signs of leak or of busted capacitors. Look for bulged capacitors or damaged components- burnt or busted. Use a multimeter to check the continuity or shorting in components, if so detach from circuit and test . If the voltage builds up and the set power ON and then shuts up then the suspected section must be checked in detail. The processor must have the +5 voltage to the function properly , the +B and secondary voltages also must be checked to infer the fault. Trace with caution and in running through the signal path , circuit trail. Check for tips on SMPS unit:
