I would suggest you go into the menu and select convergence and then advanced convergence (set will display on screen instructions) and call up the grid of lines by doing that---the grid of lines you see should all be yellow---if you see red or blue lines out of position try with the Mitsubishi remote to adjust them.

If they will not adjust the set needs the convergence circuit repaired.

For many if this is the issue it can be a do it yourself repair--I have complete instructions for this repair in this set---start to finish.

Look first to see if this is your problem.

Good Day;

Sounds like you have bad Convergence Output IC > 267P155010 > STK393-110, replace and it will correct the problem TV uses only ONE, make sure all resistors look good in the circuit around IC.
Good Luck, big IRISH.

SOURCE: how to reset convergence? on mitsubishi ws 55511,

There is an option in the user menu on the tv. Using either the remote or control panel on the front of the tv, press MENU then select SETUP. After you choose SETUP go to the 3rd column with the 3 icons. Here you can adjust the red or blue color or reset the convergence back to factory default.

After a few years the set will begin to show increasing problems with the convergence settings. When you can no longer adjust either red or blue horizontally or vertically an IC replacement will be needed. Your set uses (1) SANYO stk393-110 and you want to make sure it's SANYO and not a knock off brand as those usually fail prematurely.

I have a Mitsubishi, model # WS-48311. The red and blue are constantly way off. This is especially apparent when text is on the screen. I made sure the convergence was lined up, but still have the problem....

If the text bows way out of proportion you may in fact need new convergence IC's, part # for most of these is stk392-560. in some cases a resistor in this circuit will change value causing misalignment of convergence. you should not be able to get the convergence perfect if either condition exist. I have encountered cold solder connection in some of these older projo tv's.

Yellow and blue shadows

You can try adjusting the convergence which will be in the Advanced Menu of your TV. If it will not adjust properly then you need to have a qualified technician repair the set.
