Question about Sony Handycam DCR-TRV245 Digital-8 Digital Camcorder
Upon loading a new tape, my camcorder (already a few years old) started to go wrong: it did not seem to recognise a tape had been inserted and would therefore not record. Tried changing the tape / topping up the battery / playing an old tape but only managed to jam the tape case and now I cannot even close the body of the camera and the tape just juts out. Anybody had the same problem please? J

Fidus, I am not sure where you are located but the camcorder you're trying to use now is a PAL version of Sony's 8mm camcorder. If the tapes you recorded earlier were recorded in D8 (digital 8) or 8mm/Hi8 format NTSC, they will not play correctly in this unit. The NTSC and PAL formats are different and not compatible. Hope this helps you. Joe Weibel customelectronics.org

You should take it into a camera shop and have them inspect it. Those assemblies are pretty detailed. They have the tools to fix the problem.

Please download Sony USB Driver from Sony Support so your computer will recognize your camera DCR-PC101E.
