Ice maker in kenmore coldspot refrigerator quit making ice, nowater flow

There are several causes of no ice maker operation. First, is the freezer cold enough? It must be below 32F to operate the icemaker. 2nd: Is the bale or metal rod that runs along the side of the ice maker in the down position? 3rd: You may have a failed water solenoid valve, located on the back of the unit. The plastic or copper water line from your house's water supply is attached to this valve.

I have a GE monogram side by side refrigerator; the refrigeration side is not keeping cool and the freezer is not quite as cold as it typically is, though it makes ice just fine. There is no visble ice on...

if its making ice and if the coils are some what clear .. i would look and the air dampner . that controls the air flow to the fresh food area , this is a common failure in the ge .. mm there is a up date kit for this .. see your parts dist in your area .. wou will need the correc and complete model #` and ser # of your unit .. mm hope this helps feed back pls ..

Ice on the food

why did you stop the ice maker? was it not working properly? was it over flowing or leaking? do you have a sheet of ice forming in the ice maker tray? if your ice maker was leaking then your water valve is not shutting off completely and could be leaking down on the food. if this is the case - you need to shut the water line off coming into the refrigerator and replace your water valve.

if it is frost that is forming on your food instead of ice then you should check to see if the refrigerator is defrosting properly. if the refrigerator is not defrosting properly you would also first notice that the refrigerator is not cold enough and then later that the food in the freezer eventually thawing.

Freezer not cooling/making ice.

At this moment I think that you need to unplug the refrigerator and remove the ice maker to stop the leaking. Any extra water inside the freezer will make it harder for the defrost to remove the moisture. While the ice maker is out I want you to look to see if water is still leaking out the fill tube that feeds the ice maker tray. If it is then we found the reason. If not then we need to check some of the parts on the ice maker. Let me know what you find, Thanks, Sea Breeze
