Re: Problem Playind DVDS
Even the most basic pc should be able to play DVD's, firstly try a different dvd player sofware, see if any change and don't have any programmes running in the background.
If you still have the same problen, i would return to your retailer and ask for a exchange, because some companies do not like you messing with the hardware or settings, and of course can void your warranty.

hi there might be...first go to my computer, then locate the dvd drive, right click that and then properties, then click the hardware tab at top then in the list locate dvd drive then at bottom right click on properties then click dvd region and then you should be able to change it....hope that helped
make sure its the latest avi player, or why dont u chek out the windows media player, or vlc player, or cyberlink power dvd, or windows media centre, there are loads of softwares u can use to play your dvds
This is due to windows problems. Please try repairing your windows by doing which your windows will restore its system files for DVD driver and hence you will be able to access DVD.
There could be several things which are causing your CD burner not to act in the way it should.
I had a similar type problem after installing Windows XP, .Service Pack 3 onto my Sony VAIO model VGN-SZ330P. The standard Windows burner kept saying there was no CD in the drive but it would play both CDs and DVDs.
I went looking for an alternative and now use IMGBURN which is a free lightweight CD / DVD / HD DVD / Blu-ray burning application . You can find it at http://www.imgburn.com/.
I also installed CDBurnerXP which is another free application to burn CDs and DVDs, including Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs. It also includes the feature to burn and create ISOs, as well as a multilanguage interface. You can find it at http://cdburnerxp.se/en/home
The above does not tell you why your burner is having problems (and they could be numerous), it will certainly get the burner doing everything you need.
