There are no specific settings for playback on this machine?
If the lazer does not read discs and the display shows NO DISC or UNKNOWN DISC then the lazer pick-up needs replacing.
I believe that the lazer pick-up for this LG recorder has been discontinued?
lens cleaner not alway working.use air to blow unit out,,lots of dust inside of units...try to clean lazer with earbud very softly untill it shines,90% its works if not u need to replace lazer and hope its not the mpeg board...im a technician

This could a dirty lazer bulb try cleaning with a damp shammy leather allow to dry for a few min's . if this does not clear fauly lazer unit will need replacing

If not you have my problem spindle motor suspected faulty if the disc spins then its not being read, faulty lazer assy Try cleaning the lazer using dry brush disc philips do a good one and also clean the disc you are trying to play if it still doesnt work its a fault
