Will the monitor go into it's own config screen ? If not, it could be defective. You said it displayed a white screen so it is not likely that the brightness control is turned way down.

Check that the monitor is connected correctly to the system. Try another monitor that is known to be good. Does the monitor work on another system, say a laptop or another desktop?

Windows will boot up without a monitor and if you are running any servers on it, you can try to connect over your LAN. If the computer takes it's IP address from a local router, you can check the router status screens to see if the address is in use. That would prove Windows is running and that the monitor could be the problem.

Used monitors are not expensive these days so they are easy to replace. You should have multiple monitors anyway. This is the 21st century, not the twentieth when screen size revealed your pay grade in the organization.

The symptoms you described is common in fault mobo or VGA card.But VGA doesn,t turn bad so easy.I suggest to change your mobo first.

now u put out to another monitor by cable if u see screen in there ur lcd have problem, if black too it from ur motherboard , checking

You can connect any HDMI or VGA (15 pin) compatible monitor or TV, almost every monitor has VGA connector or VGA adapter at the end of connector and you can use it.

You could be expierencing a problem with your monitor screen. try this.... connect another monitor screen to the VGA port of your laptop. Now try booting up. Look for and push Fn + the key that turns on a secondary display. if the monitor screen comes on. you need
another laptop monitor. At least you can use your laptop with the second monitor for now.

since your computer didnt recognize your monitor just add it manually ...if its an hp lcd screen hit the button above the power button on the monitor and it will auto adjust itself..if it still dont work go under control panel to monitors and add it.
