Question about Denon D-M50S CD Shelf System
Hi Scobie
I have experienced the same problem which turned out to be very simple to resolve.
The
player immediately after being turned on and following the usual
'Hello', would display 'mechanical error'. It was accompanied by a
whirring noise rather than the usual disc shifting sound and noticeably
there was no 'clump' as the selected disc fell to the turntable. It
turned out to be the Clamping mechanism located to the rear of the
carousel mech. not having moved through it's full drop and so not
locating the disc properly. The cause was that the lubrication of the
plastic lifting components had dried out and the clamping mechanism was
not moving freely enough. I think this results in a 'Race' situation
with other moving parts of the carousel causing a jam. By gently
relocating the jammed trays and ensuring free movement of the clamping
mechanism the problem was resolved. a point to note. The lubrication
appears to be a specialist one used particularly for plastics. Other
types I have tried will not work well especially when cold.

You can probably fix it yourself but you may need some parts. Here's Denon's link that'll take you to the next step http://www.usa.denon.com/

Hi there... I'm experiencing the same issue & would appreciate any & all help you can give. My e-mail address is [email protected].
Thanks in advance....
i have got two CD's stuck in one tray. What do I do? I have a UD-M50
1. CD changer jamming. this is the third time for this unit, twice fixed under warranty, but this time i have to pay.
2. Volume control wayward and sometimes willnot reduce.
3. Tuner now seems to be messing around.
Can anyone assist in fixing any of these?
from teh posts it looks like this unit is just poorly designed.
