OK it's worth asking which Impossible film you're using, as they're selling two kinds. One being old outdated and repackaged Polaroid made film, and one being their new production run film.
If you've purchased the old stock stuff there's a VERY good chance those old batteries in the pack are simply exhaused beyond use and the film pack is therefore useless. I'd personally contact Impossible for support.
It's built into the photo pack. You get a "new" battery every time you reload the camera, but the battery is only guaranteed to work if the photo pack is within it's use by date.
You don't. It's built into the photo packs which are no longer available. If you do find expired photo packs they will almost definitely have flat batteries (or very nearly so) by now even if the film itself has been kept fresh via refrigeration.
The camera needs to be converted to use an external power supply if you have ready access to expired photo packs.
You can find Polaroid 95 or 600 on Ebay. It is very expensive. A lot of 600 exposures will run $1500.00 or ther was 40 exposures for $200.00. Needless to say it isnt made anymore. The battery is actually in the film pack. No film, no working camera.
All power for
the electronic flash, autofocusing system and advanced electronics
is derived from the wafer-thin battery in each film pack. I hope this helps and good luck. Please vote accordingly and leave a comment.
You may find this increasingly if not impossible to find as Polaroid recently announced it would no longer be making its instant film products and expected inventories to run out early 2009. Which has resulted in a run on inventories by enthusiasts of their instant film products.
Polaroid 500 films for Captiva are not distributed anymore.
You can still order them from Kodac or at any service shop.
The only online place where you can buy it is on Ebay: Polaroid 500 filmpack - 10 pictures Type polaroid 500 into Ebay bar in your country to find offers.
