Question about Panasonic Palmcorder PV-GS14 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

Tape Jam Does anyone know how to manually eject a DV tape from a Panasonic PV-GS14? I keep getting the message "PUSH THE RESET SWITCH"...which I do and it just keeps recycles back to the same message! The tape will not eject even though you can here the mechanism trying? Is there a buttom or screw that can be accessed or removed to get the tape out?

I have the same problem. Camera basically won't work!

Can anyone give any information on this problem? I am having the same problem, on Christmas of all days. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Pull the battery out to reset it. Get a DV tape cleaner to clean out the tape deck.

That should solve both.

You may need a MiniDV head cleaner tape. Read the instructions on the tape carefully and good luck.

The tapes In my Panasonic PV-GS14 are stuck and won't run

you cannot move the spindles/cogs in a mini dv tape without pressing down a small lever on the rear of the cassette.
the lever is in the lower right, move the lever, then move the ribbon protector to the open position, then spin the cogs, the tape should be free.
if not, then you have a jamm inside the cassette, you can open these casettes by removing 4 small screws. ( this is a very fiddly job & you may ruin the casette, if you dont know how )

Push the reset switch

open up the LCD screen and on the control panle you will find the reset button in the top right corner get a pin and push the button

Hi, I have a Panasonic NV-DS38 which does exactly the same thing. I spent £160 in a repair lab to fix a year ago and now its doing the same thing again. V annoying. But I have found its something to do with the loaded tape. Try a different tape or try ejecting, powering off, powering on and reloading the tape. Its a workaround rather thasn a solution but have a go and let me know. Martin
