SOURCE: Carrier Air Conditioner, cool air then runs luke warm air

Have you checked the freon level in this unit? If you are low or there is a leak it could be the problem. Hope this helps.

Wont blow cold air

First check and clean the filters, and the evaporator coil. (thats the "inside" coil that has the indoor air sucked through it, cooling it and then pushing it out the vents.

If the filter is clogged or the coils are dirty, it will not cool properly and potentially freeze up.

Also check the condensor (outdoor) coil, if it is dirty/clogged, it will run hot and not cool properly.

If all coils and filters are clean, and the fan motors are running and in good condition and it is still not cooling then you are likely low on refridgerant. (handling/purchasing refridgerant other than R134A requres a CFC certification by law)

I can't seem to get the A/C to work. I'm thinking of getting a hose as a last resort. It seems to alternate blowing cool air, then hot air after a few minutes. There's also a tendency for the a/c to...

The symtoms you describe appear to indicate that the AC might be low on the freon charge. Usually blowing cold and then hot is the first sign that the unit is low on refridgerant and is working hard to keep cooling.

Further, the tripping of the breakers/electric power also indicates that the unit is working hard to cool and as a result is running hot and is causing the power to trip off. If you can get a AC tech to recharge the unit, you should be all set.

Here's a link to a site with the owners manual and a troubleshooting guide for your unit. You can access it for free.

Hope this helps you get things working again! Best Regards!

Window unit air conditioner kicks in only when its really hot out

I would consider replacing the t'stat if it does not seem to cycle at the desired temps. Also, the outside air allows fresh air to be introduced into the conditioned space but it will also effect, to a degree, the units ability to cool the conditioned space. Once you get the unit running, try it with the baffle on and closed and see which one you like. Remember, the outside air has and add humidity and can make it seem hotter than it really is in the room.

Bryant Legacy Line air conditioning not blowing cool air..

Your outdoor condenser is in heat mode. Check the wires on the thermostat. Sounds like a small wiring problem and nothing else. Good luck. Please keep me posted as to you progress.

Refrigerant leak. You will need to have someone charge the unit, find and repair the leak the leak (It is the law and then must have an EPA air conditioning license)

My blower motor doesn't blow air out the air ducts why

Check for a frozen cooling coil. Turn the fan to the on position at the thermostat and the cooling to off. Your cooling coil may be iced over. Allow it to run in the fan only mode until the coil has had a chance to defrost. At the outside unit you may see the large line is frosted. This is the visual indication for a frozen coil. When you return the A/C to cooling use it with the fan on while in the cooling mode.
