What number goes to what color wire

It doesn't work that way! What make/model of fan do you have? How many wires on capacitor? Usually the black wire goes into the L. Always write that info down BEFORE removing the wires & never cut the wires. Also, you have to get the correct switch. Just because it looks the same on the outside doesn't mean it's the same on the inside.

Where can i purchase a 4 wire switch

You can't just get a four wire switch & think it's going to work on your fan. That's just a low-end store brand fan so I would need to know how many wires on your capacitor & what slots & color of wire goes into pull chain switch. DO NOT CUT WIRES!

How dou you connect the electical wires I connected them and it throws the breaker

Look at rating plate on motor.
Look for volts, watts, amps.
Figure with Volts x Amps = Watts.
Amps = Watts divided by Volts
1 hp horsepower is 756 Watts.

Lets say you have 120Volt 2hp motor
So 2 horsepower motor draws 1500 Watts
Amps = 1500 Watts divided by 120Volts = 12.5 amps = so you need 120Volt 15 amp breaker with at least 14gauge wire (as long as motor is located within 50 feet of breaker.)
If motor is farther away, then you need 20 amp breaker with 12gauge wire.

Look at circuit breaker rating.
If motor is 240 and breaker is 120, then it will trip breaker.
If motor is 120 and breaker is 240, then it will trip breaker.
If breaker is for 15 amps and motor draws 20 amps then it will trip breaker.

Generally speaking, if motor and breaker are 120V, then black wire goes to black wire; white wire goes to white wire and green wire connects to bare copper wire.
If motor and breaker are 240V, then wire colors can be different. Black-red or Black-white from breaker connect to Black-red or Black-white at motor.

Add a comment. Say the motor rating and color of motor wires. Say the breaker size and color of wires coming from breaker and I will help you wire the device.

Power cord was ran over by lawn mower and cut into a black and white wire from inside was unplugged at this time I need to know where does white and black wire plug back in

Is this 110 volt or 220 volt?

110 = white wire goes to the neutral side of the circuit ... or the silver color screw on the plug. The black wire goes to the brass color screw ... or the "hot" side of the plug. The green wire goes to the green screw.

220 = youwill find on the 220 20 amp plug there are two brass colored screws + a green screw for the ground.

Buddy gave me the unit. No wiring instructions, only the leads. Spearkers n ant self-explanatory. Others?

well to give you a quick run down of wire colors:
red: hook to an (fused) ignition wire. pos. (+)
yellow: Goes to a fused constant wire (battery works)
Black: is a ground (-) hook that to the chassis
blue: Amp turn on output (+)... that goes to an amp
the color pairs i.e. white, green, purple, gray are for the speakers, the (-) is the the one with the black stripe... what else would you like to know?

Need to know color code for wires in stereo plugs what wire goes to what component ,,,,,,,i just need a factory diagram to show what the wire colors each one goes to ,,,,,,like to the amp,,,,,which ones...

in most makes and models the red & white are your power, the yellow is the dimmer (if applicable) black is ground, grays, purples, blues, are usually your speaker wires, look at the wires them selves some have writing on them to say what they do, and a wire with a marking on it such as a strip or line is your negative wire (for speakers)
hope that helps

What are the colors of the speaker wires in a dodge stratus 1997 coming from the wire harness of the car itself

The easiest way is to check the speakers themselves as manufacturers tend to change colors of speakers at a whim. Usualy though you will have 8 wires (4 front & 4 rear) paired in colours (white goes with white+black stripe(stripe is possative on speaker))etc.
Not knowing the cars electrics I can't be more specific.(I live in UK so don't know that much about U.S. cars)
