I bought a phone and its a sony ericsson. When i first plugged it in it started up fine. But then i took the battery out to put my sim card in now when i charged it a full night everytime i push the power button it just vibrates for a second and the screen doesnt turn on. Can i take it to an att and store to get it fixed? or whats wrong with it?

Had exactly the same problem with my W995. I'm with T mobile. Took it into a T mobile shop and they put it on a PC and updated the software. No more problems. I thought I needed a new battery as I had the same message - "must insert a sony battery." Chap in the shop said its a common software fault on this phone.
This happened to me too, you have to take your phone back to who you bought it from so they can repair it. Its the chip inside the phone that is bad. Not the charger.
my phone is the same model and did this but when i charged it, after about an hour it would come up with 'charging error stop ' and when i unplugged it, it hadn't even charged at all. and then the other day it just wouldnt charge, i plugged it in, it said it was charging but it wasnt. in the end, it worked by keeping the phone switched off and charging it while i was turned off. so try that, if not then i really dont know sorry
just delete all items from outbox , sent items. switch off, remove the battery, again put the battery n switch on. test wether u r able to send sms now. i hope this helps
I had a similar issue, whereby my phone would turn on for 30 secs then the screen would go white and the phone would switch it self off then on.
After a lot of messing around even throwing the phone around the place. I took out the memory card and the phone worked fine. When I put the card back in, the phone started misbehaving again, so I guess the card is knackered.
The phone software is corrupted you need to reinstall the phone software if your phone is within warranty please give to service center and or get it done on the local phone service center .......................
